C'est un livre qui nous fait rêver à travers toutes ces belles réalisations.
Vous voulez épatez? pas de soucis, avec ces décors vous pourrez le faire sans soucis.
Aussi bien de gros gâteaux, mais aussi des cupcakes (petits gâteaux très tendance )et cookies (mais pas les cookies habituels!!).
Des réalisations plus ou moins difficile à réaliser, photos superbes.
POur les passionés (ées) à adopter!!!!

The book is good, but ver poorly photografed.
I don't understand why someone decides to share their knowledge and suddenly change mind...it's ice cold water dropping over your head on a winter night...I expected to get at least the cover cake, but she only show us a few...draws ! Yes, four small draws: two about the handle, one about the lap and one about the doweling. No picture of the step by step, only lots of texts....
This book coast double price if compared to others, which are much more helpful if you are curious about how to, like the The Contemporary Cake Decorating Bible by Lindy Smith.

There are some intressant recipes, but once more, no picture to relate at, so you may end up with something totally diferent fom what it was supposed to achive.
Maybe this is an advanced book and I am just not there yet.

A great book overall. The tutorials are fantastic and the step-by-step instructions in the basic recipes are easy to follow. I also like that ingredients are listed by weight, and eggs are listed in both quantities of each or cups. I am only giving this four stars though, because my version (perhaps it's been updated since my purchase) has a rather glaring typo. On all the cake recipes listed, it says to bake 9" rounds for an hour! Someone unfamiliar with baking may not know that is way too long for a cake that size. It looks like it has been corrected in the Confetti Cakes for Kids book though. Just be careful on those baking times and check your cakes or cupcakes often if you are uncertain.

I love Elisa and her cakes. The book is beautiful to look at and is inspiring for your own projects. However, I wish I'd seen the notice about the error in her book for the recipe for her sugar cookies. What a waste of ingredients. I bake all the time and I felt like I should have known something wasn't right just by reading it, but thought I'd follow the instructions since she is the expert. I was very disappointed. I will give them another shot with the proper amount of flour, but I tried the chocolate cake also. It was so inedible, we used the cake as a display at a party and I had to make another cake for eating at the last minute. I doubt I will use any of the recipes in here again. I will use the ideas and apply them to other recipes.

This is the most wonderful book for any new, and experienced, cake decorator. You get basic recipes (which I have tried them all, and can say they are amazing! I do have a better chocolate cake recipe, but it was a very good one) and the details are thorough enough so you feel she is there helping you. As for one reviewer who said they would have liked to see more cakes than cookies, etc.: if you are that experienced that you wanted to see more cakes, then you shouldn't have bought this book. I'm pretty sure this was written for beginners, and it does say on the cover cupcakes, cookies and minicakes, not just cakes. I haven't yet attempted to actually cover a cake with the fondant, but I've just messed around sculpting it. I'll be brave enough one day... Definitely worth your money!

As an aspiring baker/cake designer, I absolutely love this book. Elisa includes recipes, tips and tricks that make creating that masterpiece so attainable. Her Swiss meringue buttercream icing recipe works perfectly every time. I'd purchase this book again just for the gorgeous pictures.
