Actually, I should probably rate it lower but I don't want to ruin the author's rating completely :-). Basically, it's a few pages' worth of rehashed platitudes you've heard a thousand times before. If the purpose of this thin brochure is to promote raw eating, it comes as a complete surprise halfway through the book (that is to say, a few pages into it). If its purpose is to help people combat overeating and cravings, it doesn't say a single insightful thing about it; even worse, I found the motivational spirit entirely missing. Do yourself a favor and pick up a bunch of dog-eared glossies from your dentist's reception room: it's all in there.

The secret to will power is no secret. It's knowledge. The author lays out the reasons why you may not have will power. I know I didn't realize some of my food choices were sabotaging any ability to lose those few extra pounds. I didn't even realize the true culprits and felt bad about myself and my lack of willpower instead. The author gives you simple ideas and fixes that you can easily implement to change to a healthy lifestyle for optimal weight and health. It's an informative well-written book with a quick and helpful style. There's no extra filler--just the facts, and I appreciate that I could get to the answers quickly. As a busy business owner, I often reach for pre-made and pre-packaged meals and didn't even realize what a detriment that was to my weight and health. This book put a new light on several areas that I need to pay attention to. Thank you so much for the information. It has changed the way I look at both the food industry and my own eating habits.

Great short book on moderation.You can't lose weight all at once...it takes time and will power. Most of this book is common sense...eat vegetables or fresh fruit instead of a candy bar. I started that today after I read this. Get tempting but junk food out of your cabinets. Harder to do. This book did get me thinking on eating healthier and that's worth the 5 stars. I'm going to go get a peach right now instead of a bag of chips. I'm trying....

This book is not worth your time. Don't trust the title of the book. In the introduction the author calls the title by another time (I'm guessing the book was renamed to sell more copies as both names?) and essentially wants you to eat a raw vegan diet. There's random information thrown in with zero evidence or sources supporting it. Thought I could get some useful information, but there was nothing. How the author suggests you control yourself is to control yourself. Yep, that's it. Lame.

I was a binge eater. I was an emotional eater and it was catching up with me. I was starting to put on some serious weight so I needed help. Control Your Eating helped me identify my triggers which made it easier for me to stop binge eating so often. It's been hard but I think I'm on the right track thanks to this book.
