Conversion Marketing was a great roadmap for me. The book quickly took me from zero to 60 understanding the principles associated with getting more eyeballs all the way through to proven tactics for converting them into revenue. In particular, chapter 7 'The Psychology of Conversion' really hit home for me. Identifying your various demographics and then creating multiple focused channels to appeal to them in parallel (vs a generic all things to all people approach) is a powerful concept that Heathmann does a great job explaining. Throughout the book he gives practical strategies to implement these best practices - connecting the dots to provide tangible value for his readers.

Everyone touts the Mad Man ad budgets and promotions seem to fall by the wayside. Well, no longer thanks to Mr. Heathman!

The 31 tactics are not only practical, but he also provides a framework to MEASURE the success/failure of these tactics when actually used by marketers. I suspect that this book will be required reading for online marketers who want to defend their budgets with proven techniques to boost ROI.

I hope the next edition has even more stories (and data) from the real world after readers have applied the insights to their fields. I'd love to see industry benchmark data for when specific promotions have been used under specific cases. I'd love to see more case studies of how marketers have solved attribution, even in a limited way, using the techniques inside. Nice work!

Bryan Heathman puts his own twist on some venerable marketing techniques making them relevant for the digital era. I found Conversion Marketing a very enjoyable read. He does an excellent job of describing how to capture online sales--presenting sales-boosting concepts and then providing clear, practical examples. Super simple! I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to make money selling goods or services online.

Now...if only I could figure out how to kick back in a tropical locale and receive automated orders like Mr. Heathman! I can almost smell the pina colada and a good cuban cigar!
