Présentation de l'éditeur

Learn how to define your app, hire a vendor, and find a support network more quickly and for less money. Casey Burke Bunn claims to be an ordinary girl who started a business at 25 and wants to share tips so you don’t repeat some of her very expensive mistakes. You might disagree with the “ordinary” part of that claim. She is a “go-getter.” And while she is unusual in her determination and ambition, it doesn’t mean she can’t be an inspiration to other mere-mortal entrepreneurs who want a peek at how a fearless (naïve?) young entrepreneur with an idea plunged in with both feet and made her dream a reality.

Thanks Casey Burke Bunn for sharing your experience/adventure in creating a web product. I totally identify with your struggles, as a non-techy person myself. Knowing her experience will shorten the learning curve of so many people who are cluelessly embarking into the tech world. THANK YOU for saving us so much time and money!

HASH(0x8e8617ec) étoiles sur 5 A must read for all aspiring tech entrepreneurs – sage advice 21 mai 2014

Remember when your mom told you not to do something and you did, only to find later on you should have taken her advice? Well anyone wanting to be a tech maven needs to listen to Casey. I’m a Silicon Valley exec (retired) that really related to her experiences. If it were easy to build a Facebook or Oracle or even a seemingly simple app like OpenTable, everyone would do it. But it’s very complex and the pitfalls are many as Casey details. Any young, bright, wannabe entrepreneur could save thousands of dollars, years of their life, and succeed versus fail (certainly increase the odds in their favor) if they heeded the author’s advice. It’s a fun journey, very personable, and well written. The evil characters who extracted money for no value (Weaselette, Twit) and heroes (Mr. Fantastic and Stella) are nicely profiled. There’s a section with interviews of successful entrepreneurs and a nice glossary of terms. The author really brings her own high energy to the subject. If you don’t have her energy, then don’t try to build an app, or you’ll be saying “oh, crap!” For all of us who have suffered through many of these same experiences and come out alive, thanks for sharing, Casey.

HASH(0x8e864c00) étoiles sur 5 Fun and helpful advice 30 avril 2014

This is a fun and helpful read! This book illustrates some of the pitfalls you may encounter and provides advice on building a website or app for your business. The target audience are non-technical first-time entrepreneurs who want (or need) a web-based business or channel; if that is you then you'll learn a lot. I enjoyed the author's self-deprecating anecdotes that made the advice easier to understand and absorb. The book is a great primer for getting started with a technical project; it does not waste your time with fluff, buzz words, or pie in the sky theories. I almost wish it had been a novel, you'll laugh while you learn.

The book cover caught my eye and led to my purchasing a Kindle to read it.

Casey Burke Bunn tells an enjoyable story and along the way both educated and entertained this reader. Though written for the novice, as a well experienced technologist it was interesting to listen to her name her mistakes and know that I have seen more than a few experts make the same mistakes on a far greater scale. I recommend this book as an easy read for both the novice and professional.
