This is only the first week I have had it, but I have had no problems with inputs, or the sleep setting. The picture quality is amazing. The only thing I did was adjust the brightness. I read a lot of positive reviews and I can see why. You can tell right out of the box that dell has great quality control with calibration on their monitors, and that was my main reason for choosing this monitor. The menu was also great and very easy to use, as well as the buttons to surf through it. The last monitor I had was an ASUS and the quality of this Dell monitor just makes those ASUS ones look cheap. On every single monitor I have had before this one, I have had to settle for some degree of saturation, or off white and adjust contrast to crazy levels as well as the brightness being turned way up to even see different levels of browns vs blacks. Not the case with the Dell. Picture quality right out of the box shows amazing calibration and quality control. Also, using the menu is very user friendly, and the monitor does not shake or wobble a singe bit. Very well built. Very well calibrated.
Thanks for reading the review, and I would advise you to sift through some of the negative ones who bought either used or re-manufactured from private sellers. Never do that unless you can test it yourself in person. Common sense. Unless someone updated their review and ran into an issue, which I saw a couple that were still kind of shifty to judge, I would avoid them. Take the step in going ultrawide, even it it means compromise to 2560x1080. Well worth it imo. Maybe next year I can afford the Dell 34" curved. After using this one, I would love to go a step up when the prices drop.
Just keeps getting better ;)
I have found that sRGB provides the best picture quality, and I use the MAC gamma setting as well in that mode. Absolutely perfect. I actually wish they would make a 34" version that is not curved.
Handles games very nicely. No issues at all. Anyone who wrote a review about screen tearing or complaining about laggy-ness has no idea how to optimize their playback and should be banned from reviews. This said, it sure would be nice to see a 21:9 144Hz Dell monitor that does not cost a contract signed in blood with the devil... I mean seriously, those things are way too expensive and the curved stuff it just stupid IMO. If they make a flat 3440x1440 144Hz monitor, I will trade this in... until then, I am more than happy and games are very immersive and enjoyable.
Still no issues. I will not upgrade my monitor until dell releases a non curved 3440x1440 above 60Hz.
I had been hesitant to actually upgrade my monitors to display port or the ultra wide setup... But at this price it was simply too good of a deal to pass up.
The screen is stunning, the viewable area is about 1/2 an inch inside the actual edge. The tilt and height adjustment is smooth and solid.
As far as ports go there's sooo many, including display port out. But no mini display port. But the monitor does come with a huge bundle of cables and includes minidp to do.

As someone that cares little about photo editing but enjoys to get the most eye candy out of my content I am a very happy camper.
That being said if you're a gamer you loose out on the SRGB mode, and while it still looks great in game mode you don't get the same factory calibration. The monitor has a healthy dosage of input lag outside of gamer mode, its something that normally doesn't catch me but this time it did. The Delay is long enough to make moving around in an MMORPG to feel "heavy" and labored. In gamer mode however the input lag is acceptable, barely there. If you're a competetive twitch gamer, I probably could not recommend this panel for you. While the perceptible level of input lag is low enough to feel as if its gone, those used to faster panels will definitely feel the change in fluidity.
This is where I felt it neccesary to post this review. Because the input lag on this screen could easily turn off many a gamer. It happens more then the games FPS dips under 50. While this is not 2k, or 4k it does need a beefier graphics card to get the most out of it. I did loose enough of my framerate for it to concern me that my 970 is not up to snuff anymore.
Scaling functionality on this unit is hit or miss. When connected to my PC I had to enable Nvidia GPU scaling rather then the displays scaling for 16:9 content. The gamma seemed as if it was boosted and as a result the image became washed out and blurred when using the displays built in scaling.
/Fortunately/ this only happens on my PC, when connected to my PS3 the displays 1:1 and 16:9 wide scaling works beautifully. No problems at all with the reproduction of the image with black bars, colors are maintained as is clarity.
I was looking at a lot of 32" monitors - and it sounded as though graphics and gaming was the main focus with an "oh yeah, how is it for spreadsheets and text?" some where way down in the questions. I got this specifically because I do a lot of very wide spreadsheet work for hours at a time - and the write up sounded as though working with text and spreadsheets were the primary purposes for this particular monitor. I am NOT disappointed. The text, even very small, is crisp.
I had to turn down the brightness (to about 70%) and it is still a very bright monitor.
