Présentation de l'éditeur

BOOK TWO in the War of Gods series.

With the White God in Europe, Dustin is left alone in Miami to protect the Grey God, a man-god struggling with his identity, and the White God’s mate. One of the Black God’s vamps in Miami suddenly goes rogue and starts killing humans by the dozen. Dustin initially doesn’t think much of the ruthless, human-hating thug, Talon, until it becomes clear that the vamp is receiving help from otherworldly beings whose intentions are nothing short of destroying humanity. To make matters even worse, Dustin’s begun to dream of his dead sister, who tells him he’ll be seeing her soon.

Dustin rescues Bianca and her troubled brother, a Natural whose mysterious talent makes him vital to Talon’s plans. Bianca, a woman as sunny and sweet as Dustin is hard and cold, has the rare Natural gift of healing. She can bring the recent dead back to life or turn a vamp back into a human. She can even reach Dustin’s heart, which he locked away long again after his sister’s death. Convinced he’ll be killed soon, Dustin won’t risk his heart or Bianca’s, despite their mutual attraction, and Bianca discovers even her incredible talent can’t save both the men she loves.

Includes exclusive excerpt of "Damian's Immortal (War of Gods, Book 3)", which will be released 02 December.

Excellent tome 2 après Damian's oracle dans une série où la fantaisie prédomine sur la romance qui n'est qu'en toile de fond à l'inverse de trop nombreux romans de ce genre.

A great continuation of what I hope is a series. There were a couple places that needed a little work to add more drama to the ending. I won't go into it here, spoilers. It's still a satisfying book and I can't wait for the next. If the author wanted to add one hot sex scene I am sure the PNR crowd would eat this up with a spoon. There is plenty of sexual tension along with the ongoing battle between the White god and Black god. Loved it.

HASH(0x90173cc0) étoiles sur 5 A Little Bit of a Tease... 16 mai 2013

I have to say I had high expectations for this book (I liked Dusty in the last book) and I was a bit disappointed. That could be my own fault for setting the bar high to begin with but the characters seem to be all talk but no action. Dusty is supposed to be Damian's assassin. I expected more action, more fighting, more attitude, more confrontation and just more all round. The first book was Damian and Sofi's story and this one was Dustin and Bianca's story, and both books make these relationships a primary focus of the story, and yet the relationships aren't really developed in a meaningful way (and the author seems to avoid any kind of written intimacy like the plague).

For the that reason, I removed one star. Although, I love the premise of the story and I love the characters, I don't like the way the story is told because it leaves out the specific details I want to hear about, and glosses over the relationship aspect even though it's a major focus. I'm not explaining myself properly but I guess compared with other stories I've read, I just didn't feel any depth to their emotions, and those feelings and emotions are what allow us as readers to delve deep and connect with characters because we can relate to those feelings ourselves.

It ends up being a bit of a tease because it's such a great story but the author won't give it all to me!

I removed a second star because the story was also very predictable, and I had the ending pegged from the beginning - no surprises. There could be a little bit more mystery to keep me guessing. The best stories are the ones where I come up with 6 possible theories and when I get to the end, I'm still surprised because it's not exactly what I thought, or not what I thought at all. But this was waaaaay too predictable. I almost knew what was going to happen every time I turned a page.

I love the stories and I think the author just needs to work on writing in some more details and making the plot a little more intricate.

Book 2 in the War of Gods series we meet Damian’s long time assassin and adopted brother Dusty. Dusty is a control freak and a neat freak. While Damian the White God heads to Europe to tie things up Dusty is in Miami taking care of the newly acquired Grey God who is at the moment going through a teenage rebellion phase while trying to find himself. Dustin also has issues with a vampire leader Talon. Dusty ends up rescuing the sweet and loving Bianca and her brother. Bianca is the complete opposite of Dusty but she is possibly exactly what Dusty needs.

I liked Bianca I’m usually all about the heroic women who kick butt and might talk smack or at least have some sarcasm but Bianca is just plain sweet and I’m sure some would think that would make her a horrible character because she is kind of a push over and she is ever forgiving no matter what horrible things her brother does or what mean things Dusty might have said to her. She balanced the assassins coldness out nicely though and she was actually patient with him. Instead of running from how she felt she just seemed to wait till he felt the same. Like I said I think she made love interest for Dusty. Dusty however I at first didn’t like. He seriously seemed to have been written without a personality, but that was his personality he was a stone cold assassin and didn’t think he had long to live. He did what he had to do and what he was told to do.

I think though the Grey God stole the book for me. I was more interested in what he was going through and his friendship he built with Bianca and Sophi than I actually was in what was going on with Dusty and Bianca.

Since that is all said. The story was still really good. This book definitely kept things flowing nicely. We get more bad guys and more good guys and more in depth story. It might have its lull moments but they are not that bad. The action scenes were still good and it kept me moving on to the next book to find out what happens next.

If you like fun action filled paranormal/mythological romance this book is a great choice. Its a quick read and keeps you wanting to read the next book in the series.

Damian's assassin, Dustin, is ruthless, intense, and a little ocd. When he meets Bianca, a natural healer, they appear to be polar opposites. He can barely take care of himself and she took care of her father and younger brother Johnny. His emotions are guarded while she wears her heart on her sleeve. He decorates in black and white and keeps his home spotless while she is full of energy and color and enjoys cooking but not cleaning. After spending some time together, Dusty starts to open up to Bianca. They don't get too much time together though because EVERYTHING seems to be going wrong in Dusty's territory. With Damian and Jule trying to clean up Europe, things in North America became a million times worse. While trying to fix the evil caused by Czerno and his son Talon, Dusty still has to worry about Darian. Darian is a MESS - no longer the white god they once knew - he's now a moody, suicidal, rebellious grey god. Sophi and Bianca do their best to start to heal him and although he's still not back to normal, by the end of this book we can see quite a bit of growth in him.

This book was FULL of action. Although Sophi is an Oracle and we know what will happen in the future, it was still fun to read through the intense action scenes to see it all play out. Now, with a new Black god, limited powers, Jule still stuck in Ireland, a pregnant Oracle, and a teenage grey god, I can only image how crazy book 3 will be!!!!

This is the story of how Dusty finds his mate. I have to say this story wasn't really what I was expecting, for one Dusty comes across as an ass most of the time and Bianca (Dusty's mate) is kind of a push over but it works in the story even though I would have liked her to have more of a backbone.
When we see Dusty's house in the eyes of Bianca I think everyone would have the urge to mess up his white and black no dust house a bit. It would kind of drive me insane. Dusty has a problem with getting passed what happened to his sister (it happened a long time ago) and Bianca in her own way helps him get passed it. Darian (the gray god) I love in this book, the way he acts like adolescent does bring some laughs but at the same time shows how his past has effected him so much. We dont see much of Jules or the white god and for that I'm kind of sad about but at the same time we get to know the other characters better and meet new ones. Jen is the Guardian that every man wants and since she had a friends with benefits arrangement with Dusty I was all for hating her and her to be mean to Bianca but to my surprise Jen is a really likable character. She actually pushes Dusty to go to Bianca.
This book has a lot of pain and death in it but it also has new beginnings for a lot of people. Damian's Assassin was a good read and it flowed really well I could have finished it in one sitting but life got in the way.
