Présentation de l'éditeur

Even though dozens of top Nazi scientists were persuaded to switch their allegiance to the United States (or other Allied nations) through Operation Paperclip at the end of World War II, many innovators continued working under their original allegiance to the Third Reich. Operating from secret bases in Norway, Greenland, the Canary Islands, Antarctica and South America, these scientists developed astonishing technologies and a post-war Nazi power structure called the 'Dritte Macht' or Third Power. Stevens painstakingly provides the details, function and location, of several of these bases while revealing the underlying technologies being developed - they are interrelated in unexpected ways and Stevens' fluency in German aids in his being able to present brand new evidence from documents and testaments translated by him for the first time. Stevens uses his extensive technical expertise to analyse, integrate and explain the high tech developments coming out in this postwar Nazi world. He makes new discoveries concerning death rays and communications devices and their underlying connection to Tesla technologies. Fantastic U-boats with unconventional propulsion systems are explained, as are the field propulsion German flying discs, including the Schauberger, Vril and Haunebu saucers. Their technical history and physics in terms of levitation are discussed for the first time. The discussion culminates with the famous experimental Bell and shows how all these technologies are tied together with a common method at their core. This book details several seemingly independent themes and expertly weaves them into a coherent glimpse into the post-war Nazi world.

Biographie de l'auteur

Henry Stevens has been researching WWII and the Third Reich for more than 30 years corresponding with WWII buffs in Poland, Germany, Britain and other countries, about the secret activities of Nazis during and after the war.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Stevens' latest and best 28 septembre 2011

I was hoping that this book would be as good as the author's previous two, but I was wrong. It was even better. Stevens is one of the top researchers in the field of hidden Nazi technology, and his two previous books, "Hitler's Flying Saucers," and "Hitler's Suppressed and Still Secret Weapons, Science, and Technology," are must haves in this area, along with Joseph Farrell, Nick Cook, and Igor Witkowski.

This book is written in more detailed fashion than the author's previous books, which were fairly detailed already. He states that this is his last book on this topic, which I hope is not true, as his work is very good and has shed much light on the secret Nazi empire which continues to this day.

Where he departs from Farrell is in his more detailed assessment of the fictions of Wilhelm Landig, which is usually regarded as pro-Nazi hype. Stevens goes to some lengths to show how there is some evidence, although no solid proof, of many of Landig's claims. His analysis is compelling, and there are enough solid bits of evidence to make a reasonable person take notice. The areas of flying machines, atomic research, and submarine development are the main technological arenas focused on in this book. Stevens dishes up quite a bit of solid evidence for technology far in advance of what we are usually told the Nazis developed.

He also goes into quite a bit of depth on Otto Skorzeny, the most visible link between the 3rd Reich and the modern Nazi International. Skorzeny is linked quite openly to current "terrorism," and his movements and activities after the war are covered enough to further shore up Steven's themes in the book.

A must read if you are interested in WW2 history and how it has influenced events which continue to this day.

Highly recommended.

Fun to read if you like this stuff. Some truths are stranger than fiction. Perfect size for a weekend of good reading. Seems a little difficult to read bc of the authors style, but interesting overall.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 So many secrets we just don't know for sure! 6 avril 2012

I have read this author's work before alongside Joseph Farrell's work..To my mind it's a case of..How much are we ever really going to know or even allowed to know? The problem I find with a lot of these works is a lot comes down to what you want to believe..It's easy to dismiss these books as yet more conspiracy theory junk, but there seems to be enough substance to make even the most cynical of us re-consider our thoughts. There has always been talk of secret Nazi bases in just about every part of the world to my knowledge..The polar expeditions are no secret..talk of secret bases in those regions were muted as well..The real proof is in actually seeing these things in the flesh then judging accordingly I guess.
It's no secret(No pun intended) that Nazi Germany had so many secrets at the end of WW2 that I doubt even the allies got a glimpse of the real true depths of it all..sure we got a lot,but I do feel we got what we were intended to have..the rest is hidden in history somewhere. The evidence is strong for believing these bases did or still exist, but the proof is still to be revealed. The problem with a lot of these books is the author's are so desperate to prove that there is a basis for their work they create and invent the facts to suit themselves(not all..some)..which has had the sad outcome of a lot of this literature to be laughed at..UFO'S,little green men and such. These books have one very annoying problem though for me anyway..the spelling is printed wrongly a lot of the time..it does have the tendency to throw you off what you are reading, but on the whole these books give you a lot to ponder on and what might be out there.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Non-fiction or sci-fi novel? 12 décembre 2011

Non-fiction or sci-fi novel?
Dark Star by Nazi wunderwaffe expert Henry Stevens reads at times like an amazing science fiction novel. Mr. Stevens has written other books about the Nazi wundewaffe but Dark Star is his Pièce de résistance. It's got it all, and I mean all! If you are a Nazi wunderwaffe buff or are just interested in this sort of WW2 esoteric history then this is the book you want to read. It is packed with most of the key Nazi wonder weapons and the individuals who made or managed these amazing devices. It is loaded with technical data in an attempt to explain just what and how these futuristic weapons worked. Stevens does tend to repeat himself some from his previous books, but in Dark Star he ties it all together in definitive fashion. His assertions are logical but must be taken with an open mind. He covers a lot of ground and attempts to document what he can, but the entire Nazi wunderwaffe program was cloaked in secrecy with many mysterious and shadowy characters. IF the Fuhrer had been able to get most of these devices involved in the war effort in a big way the war could have been prolonged, but the eventual outcome would not have been changed in my opinion. Still, it is interesting to "what if" the possibilities with such amazing weapons. Probably the most interesting thesis is how the Nazi wunderwaffe changed American military and scientific technologies. The real race at the end of the war was not the eventual defeat of Nazi Germany, but the race to capture as many German scientists as possible (Operation Paperclip) in order to enhance the West's own technologies. It was apparent that German science was in many ways far ahead of both the West's and the USSR. Mr. Stevens points this out time and again.
Mr. Stevens also goes into definitive detail about secret Nazi bases, some of which continued to function well after the war ended in May 1945 These secret bases included underground and underwater sites for advanced U-boats and flying machines (flying disks) that continued to operate well after the war ended, and involved several mysterious Nazi organization that continued operating well into the 1980s. He documents various Nazi experiments and inventions that cover the gamete of military operations. Probably the best part of his book was his in-depth dealing with some of the main wunderwaffe characters such as Dr. Hans Kammler, Otto Skorzeny, and Reinhart Galen just to name the most famous. He did an excellent job of tying these individuals together and into the various Nazi networks they worked in. Mr. Stevens also covered in some detail the various experiments and inventions that highlighted specific wunderwaffe, in particular U-boat operations and the infamous Nazi "Bell" (Die Glocke). I also liked how he tied in Philip Corso and his book The Day After Roswell. It seems the more we know about the Nazi wunderwaffe the more we don't know!
He discusses the location of various Nazi secret bases and their eventual demise well after the end of the Second World War. Most of these bases were used by U-boats and/or "flying disks" and functioned for many years after the war ended. Mr. Stevens also alludes to recent eye witness accounts of actually being inside these bases and seeing Nazi U-boats in relatively pristine condition along with various documents on board. This stretches credulity for if this physical equipment exists why has it not been brought forward? But he does document the reports with relatively current eye witness information. Still, hands on would be nice and proof positive.
All in all Dark Star made for both fun and informative reading. For anyone who has read about Hitler's wunderwaffe this is a must addition as Mr. Stevens ties up a lot of loose ends. Is it all believable? That is for the reader to determine. Whether it is or not Mr. Stevens writes a most interesting book.

Amazing information and a must have for anyone wanting to learn the real history around German/nazi technology. The Germans had many genius minds back in the day. Unfortunately the wall street financed nazi party came into power and ultimately destroyed Germanys greatness.
