Washington, D.C. Midday. A man waits at a bus stop, his intentions unknown. Two government operatives have been stalking him for days, waiting for him to make his move. Unexpectedly, the man takes off running and heads for a deserted warehouse. Jack Noble and his partner, Frank Skinner, believe the man to be part of a terrorist organization that is involved in smuggling drugs and guns and men into the country. But it turns out their plan involves far more export than import, and hits a lot closer to home. As the case unfolds, the man behind it all reaches out to Jack with a simple message... 37 hours. 5.0 étoiles sur 5 Jack is Back at it in A Deadly Distance 11 mars 2013

If you like Jack Reacher, you'll love Jack Noble. A Deadly Distance is the second full length novel in the Jack Noble series. If you like exciting, action packed mysteries, with a great leading man, you'll love Jack Noble. While it's true Jack can be deadly when confronted with dangerous situations, he also has a loveable and sometimes vulnerable side that's quite charming. I would recommend L.T. Ryan's Jack Noble series to anyone who likes a really good, fast read. You definitely won't want to stop reading until you've finished!

I confess I have not read Jack Noble #1, so with this 2nd book, it is my complete introduction to the Jack Noble Mysteries. I love this book! From page one it grabs your interest, and it keep your interests throughout the entire book. I found the story to be believable and well written. I found the characters to be believable as well. The character of Jack is so well written that you can relate to him right off.

Story starts out in Washington, D.C. where a man waiting for a bus is being watched by 2 government operatives who are just waiting for this man to make a move. Unexpectedly the man takes off running and goes to an empty warehouse. Jack and his partner Frank believe this man is running a smuggling ring. They think he is smuggling guns, drugs and men into the US. Turns out their ring is more into exporting than importing. What they are exporting is a crime so evil and hits lots closer to home than they originally imagined.

As the story unfolds, the man behind it all reaches out to Jack with a message.... 37 hours.... and this message was given using a voice synthesizer to hide his true voice.

As the story unfolds, you will get to see sides of Jack that are lethal and caring at different times.

For those of you who hate blood and guts, there is nothing like that. Guy gets shot, they don't elaborate on the gore details. There is also no sex scenes for those of you who do not like those. This is a great mystery with great writing. Authors like this one don't need that other stuff to make a good story.

I recommend this book highly.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Jack Noble series; Read 'em. You'll like it. 6 septembre 2016

I would put LT Ryan's "Jack Noble" books up there with the best of the contemporary mystery writers (Patterson, Grisham, et al). I had gotten into something of a rut reading many of my favorites (Clive Cussler, Tony Hillerman, and a couple others) and was looking for something different - or perhaps SOMEONE different. Imagine my surprise when I found the FREE "Noble Beginnings" at the Kindle store! Great; a chance to try someone new with no risk. How could you beat that? Well, it was a great opportunity to find, and add, another great author to my Kindle library.

Richly developed characters; sometimes CRAZY plot twists; and non-stop action. I simply couldn't put these books down. I went right from book one (Noble Beginnings) to book 2 (Deadly Distance) without any hesitation. And I have already moved on to "Thin Line" (#3 in the series).

Great stuff, people. Read LT Ryan; you won't regret it.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 "A Fast-Paced Thriller Of Deception" 28 août 2016

In this chilling, exciting novel, Jack Noble and his partner, Frank Skinner are tracking a man they believe is part of a terrorist group involved in importing drugs, weapons, and men into the USA. But it is also about what is being exported. They have 37 hours to resolve this potential threat and the threat is also getting closer to them. They are members of a secret elite secret investigative agency in Washington D.C. referred to as SIS. The team members consist of top agents from FBI, CSI, and DEA. This is an awesome story - so captivating that you'll read it late into the night. Highly recommend.

I just finished the 3rd book (Thin Line) in the Jack Noble series, and I will purchase Noble Intentions this afternoon. I have enjoyed each of these novels very much although, truthfully, I rate these books slightly under those of Vince Flynn. On the other hand the novels have been exciting, action packed, well thought out and relatively believable. I'm looking forward to the next novel and each additional book going forward ( I try to read all of my books in order of the publish date).

The one thing that does bother me a great deal is the poor grammatical editing. Perhaps this is a small thing; however, I find it very distracting---especially when I'm engrossed in the story line and I run across an obvious grammatical error---it just ruins the moment for me. I guess I'm being overly anal about the whole thing, but I truly do enjoy the writing and I thought the editors should know about the problem---then again, probably not---sigh!

Once again, it's a great read, and I am looking forward to "Noble Intentions".

John
