Présentation de l'éditeur
This book was born out of the tragedy of loss. It is not when life is easy that we learn those difficult lessons that make us think deeper, and drives us to higher levels of understanding. The result is that this kind of process compels us to move into greater levels of maturity. We don’t enjoy those hardships of life, but if we are able to step back and consider the path we have traveled we can observe important lessons we have learned.
An untimely death can come in many forms. Some seek escape from unpleasant situations in life by committing suicide, some die of health problems and complications. Others die in unfortunate accidents and some are murdered. These aren’t the only things that bring difficult questions into our life, or cause us to question God. People experience death of relationships through divorce, or death of their childhood through abuse and rape, and there are also deaths of dreams such as losing a home in a foreclosure, or losing a long held job, or not being able to continue or finish college.
We can get stuck in only thinking of our tragedy from our own perspective, but suffering from loss also is an invitation by God to explore our life from His perspective. We will look at various facets of suffering and the kinds of questions that come to our mind for which we are seeking answers. This is a time we do much self examination about how we failed in some way. We seek to understand life, as well as understand God and how he relates to us in such times.
