Présentation de l'éditeur

USA Today Bestselling author, Deanna Chase, brings you book three of the Jade Calhoun series.

New Orleans coven leader, Jade Calhoun, is embarking on a Hellish mission. Literally. A week ago her ex sacrificed himself to Hell in order to save Jade’s mother. While he suffers, Jade will stop at nothing to bring him home…even if it means working with Lailah, an angel she’s never trusted.

But the stakes are raised when Jade discovers her boyfriend, Kane, is marked by a demon. The very same one who tried seducing him right before Jade’s eyes. Now Kane’s life is on the line, and consequently, Jade’s soul is compromised. She’ll need all the help she can get, including Lailah’s, as she fights her way through Hell to save her ex and Kane—and her entire existence.

Title: Demons of Bourbon Street
Series: Jade Calhoun Series Book #3
Author: Deanna Chase
Rating: A
Review: After reading the first two books in the series, it was impossible for me not to read the next one! Demons of Bourbon Street picks right up where book two left off, so if you haven't read the previous books I definitely recommend reading those first. Not only because it helps you understand more about what is going on in this book, but because they were just that good!
In this one, we are exposed to more of the antics that are Jade's life - I mean, who can say they are going to hell to save their ex-boyfriend, while working with their current boyfriend, his ex-girlfriend, your friends, your mother that just came back from years in Purgatory herself, your aunt/fill-in mother, your witches coven, and assorted other best friends? And did I mention that in the group we have witches, a dream walker, a witch hunter, and an angel? Such is the life of Jade Calhoun.
In this one, the question is did Jade manage to save her mom....only to wind up eventually losing the man she loves in the process? And what unexpected events happen along the way? As usual this was a great read by Deanna Chase - I couldn't put it down! And so far, that seems to be the case with all of her books. Definitely recommended!

Love, Love this series . Great characters, their real, they feel like your friends and family. Deanna has done a wonderful job with this. Jade has got her life back and now she has her Mother and the family she thought she would never have. She's found the love of her life, and he's gorgeous on top of that, and she has accepted her destiny as a White Witch , which is a very powerful one, she also has her dream home. Hated to see this end I have enjoyed these characters and their exciting lives, can't wait to have more from Jade and her crazy friends and family.

I like Deanna Chase's books and I really wanted to like the Jade Calhoun series, however, I am so tired of Jade complaining about her troubles all because she can't get time to screw her fiancee, Kane. Jade continues to come off as a spoiled, whiny, weaked willed woman. She only takes care of the situations at hand so she can go screw Kane. Doesn't do much to reconnect with the mother she lost for 12 years, her decisions to give her mother time to readjust after 12 years in Hell would be admirable, except her reasons are really selfish. Everything that happens to her is at great risk to her friends and family. She doesn't step up unless she has to. Take charge please, Jade! Grow some back bone and take control of the gifts you have been given, give back freely. Meet the challenges on your own two feet and stop waiting for someone to rescue. Jade is weak and selfish.

Sadly this was a letdown. I was very excited about the release of this installment but felt it fell short of the mark. The first two were fast paced, but this one just felt.... like it jumped from thing to thing. I wasn't impressed by the ending, i think it was a copout.

I read Haunted on Bourbon St. and Witches of Bourbon St. I really like Haunted so I bought Witches. I liked Witches less but it still got four stars. Now, 38% into Demons, I'm down to three stars. Jade is really beginning to get on my nerves. She's ditzy and asinine and won't for the life of her follow directions. Someone is always having to come to her rescue. It's getting old. The idea of her being an all powerful witch is getting to be more and more ridiculous. And I'm really getting tired of her and Kane acting like two teenagers with raging uncontrollable hormones. I get they're in love but develop and grow the story line and their relationship beyond the bedroom for goodness sake. She's still writing like they just met. I don't know if Chase is going to go on with this series but unless she can develop Jade beyond her clumsy, hardheaded, stary-eyed silliness, I'm out.

UPDATE: So I pushed through to the end. It got interesting again around the 70% mark. But the injustices of the so-called angels was just too much to take. When one says demons and angels a certain behavior is expected according to the title. The demons acted exactly as you would expect. But the angels were woefully disappointing. These mock angels acted more like....well, I don't want to give the story away. The whole story was just unbelievably silly. And disappointing. The ending was warm and fuzzy though.
