Description du produit

Présentation de l'éditeur

I see her beautiful face whenever I close my eyes. I feel her soft lips press against mine as I'm falling asleep. Sometimes I have to turn around because I hear that smart mouth giggling behind me. But Maya isn't here anymore.

She doesn't realize just how much danger she's in now and I want to keep it that way. I will do what it takes to protect her, even if she hates me when she finds out.

Maya's psychotic boyfriend is the least of my worries. No one walks away from my world. No one gets away with what I've done. How could I have known that I'd survive long enough for the past to haunt me? I always thought I'd go out in a blaze of glory, but I have too much to live for now. Disappearing into my rage is not an option anymore. Each move must be calculated perfectly. There is no room for mistakes.

She belongs to me. I want to wake up with my arms around her every morning. I need to feel her fingers slide over my flesh every night. I will do anything to have her. Anything.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 A great continuation of Denial 6 avril 2014

The story is worth 5 stars at points, the romance is probably closer to 4 stars, and the writing is 3.5 stars.

I actually liked the characters more in Desire than when we first met them in Denial. They became more complex and more believable, especially Maya. I really like that the author added the character narrating each chapter to the chapter title page to reduce confusion. I found the story to be even more interesting as we learned more details and find how interconnected all the characters are. I had a hard time putting the book down at all, and now am left with another cliffhanger until the third book is released.

The dialogue is a little immature at times, and distracts from the story. However, the characters are admittedly young and naive in some ways, so perhaps it is purposeful. My main complaint is the grammatical or random writing errors. I saw quite a few in the first book of the series, but they were not as disrupting as those in Desire (particularly at the end) and I almost want to give the book 3 stars for that reason alone. I just feel like the editor and/or proofreaders let Miss Chase down by not catching these things, and lessened my enjoyment as a reader.

Did I still enjoy the book, yes. Will I be reading the final book in the series, most definitely.

Book 2 is less satisfying than Book 1 which is saying a lot. This is a series of three books which I read over the course of a two day car trip. Each of the first two books end without resolving anything and at points that do not make sense unless you fully commit yourself to buying all three of the books in the series. So if you want to know what happens after Book 1, be prepared to also buy Book 3. Endless sex scenes with more female "squirting" ad nauseam. Very little actual plot development. (You can quit laughing now. What did I expect, right?) I did manage to eventually finish the ever plodding Book 2 but it was only with LOTS of breaks because it really did become tiresome. Of course there was no more resolution in Book 2 than in Book 1. It got to the point where I thought seriously about never picking up this series again but I'd already spent money for Books 2 and 3 so I felt compelled to keep on. Maybe it felt like just punishment for the waste of money. And hey, punishment is pleasurable, right? Hah.

This book is very different from the first one in a good way. It focuses much more on the story than the sex and it’s a refreshingly different storyline. And it’s dual point of view without repeating scenes!

I love these characters, especially Isaac! It’s nice to read about a hero who’s a real person with flaws and aspirations, not some alpha caricature that could be swapped out with any other. Isaac is just so Isaac, I cannot get enough of him and I’m glad we got to spend so much time in his head. And I love that the author just let him be at a low point in his life and deal with only having crappy choices without coming up with some unrealistic way of solving his problems with his fists.

There’s not nearly as much sex in this one. I would have liked more, but it made sense because Isaac and Maya are torn apart. The scenes that we do get are either brutal or very sweet or even both, and I like that Isaac is conflicted about his sexuality and has such dark urges that contrast with his sweet side and noble nature. We got a ton of info on his childhood and what his life was like before Maya and it’s so awful and sad, but so interesting.

I love how the bad characters aren’t 100% bad, they feel like real people too. Luke, OMG, he’s such a jerkface but his and Maya’s relationship totally makes sense to me now after a jawdropping revelation. It’s a sad subject that doesn’t get talked about and it’s handled well and realistically. Isaac’s stepmother/former submissive is such a wreck, I really can’t figure her out at all and even though it drove me crazy that Isaac was sort of with another woman, I couldn’t put this book down during those scenes because their relationship was so fascinating.

It’s another long, dark read and I loved every bit! I can’t wait to read the third book, I can’t stop thinking about this story! The cliffhanger at the end is total agony, it’s driving me crazy!!! They miss each other so much and I miss them being together. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted a HEA more, you truly feel these characters.

I tell myself never to read these series books until they are all published. Now I'm left waiting in agony for the third book! Talk about a cliffhanger!!! I enjoyed this book because the love story between Jace and Piper begins to take shape and adds humor and drama to the story. I also enjoyed the banter between Jace and Isaac. I can't wait to see what happens between all the characters and I truly hope that Luke gets what he deserves...a slow painful death

Okay if you liked the sex scenes in the first book too bad because there are none like that in this one. If you love a huge cliffhanger this is the book for you and you'll be left with a ton of unanswered questions if you enjoy that in book. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the story but I hate feeling forced to buy the next book even if I was left with non-I like to read the happy ending and how it all turned out in their make-believe world. I hate getting bad reviews but maybe this was just one book too many with the same cliffhanger the same plot and maybe at some of the stuff was answered I would actually buy the next book. When you literally forced me to buy the next book just to understand the first two I've had enough... I've had enough of authors like this! I've had enough of trilogies and cliffhangers. I know the authors are in it to make money but I'm just sick of it and this book was the worst of all of them I read.
