They're an awesome looking boot but the strap that hangs off of the best does tend to stick out when I wear them. It doesn't bother me, but I would prefer that it stay up tight to the boot instead of swinging out to the side. I would definitely get the larger size so that you have room for warm socks, as these aren't insulated. Great for when you want to look nice, but not get wet, most people don't even realize they're rubber boots.
Granted I only wore these during my trip so far, but they did protect my socks from being wet. They don't have much sole support, but i think this was more meant for casual wear anyway, so I didn't expect that. I would think if your traveling in a rainy area, want to pack minimally and have a pair of boots that are affordable but can be worn both casual, even wear in the city as well as a rainy/snowy conditions where you walk around with low intensity, give these a try.
I usually wear 8.5 and sometimes go up a size. Since i read a couple of reviews that said it runs tight i chose a size 9, and it was the right choice. Black, size 9 plus two day shipping with amazon prime? ran under $40, not bad for me.
please note that I wrote this review very recently, and don't have feedback on longevity. I live in Cali.. so I'm not sure if rain may be of an issue any time soon, but I know i can still wear these since they match my other outfits.
Absolutely love these. My favourite things about them:
-Theyre very slim and stylish for a rain boot (the toe is slightly pointed so its not clunky at all)
-They go up to my knees (5'6'')
-Comfortable and fit well
However I will say as a warning that these really do run slim. I am average/thin so they fit well but I couldn't wear them with thick socks or if my calves were bigger. Also I ordered them as my usual size which is a 9 and they fit perfect. HOWEVER if you are buying these with the intention to wear a thick liner or wool socks, go up a half or whole size. That's the trade-off for slim rubber boots though, they look great, especially for the price.
