Présentation de l'éditeur

Amy Bennett has a type- tall, dark, and jerky. After being used and tossed aside one too many times, she decides enough is enough. No more pretty boys. Instead, Amy begins dating Grayson . Lean, quiet, and average looking, he’s the exact opposite of almost every man she’s ever been involved with.
Her resolve is tested when Troy Castillo moves into the other half of her duplex. He’s the embodiment of her usual kind of man; including the inconsiderate behavior. Within days Troy is making her nuts.
Things with Grayson start fizzling out and keeping Troy at arm’s length becomes impossible as someone begins to harass Amy. Harmless but obnoxious pranks soon turn violent and destructive. Troy refuses to back off and he is determined to protect her, whether she likes it or not.
Amy knows she can trust Troy to keep her safe but can she trust him with her heart?

HASH(0x8b7b5120) étoiles sur 5 I enjoyed every second of this Novella 29 novembre 2013

Read a great bonus scene (mini story!) at Ana's Attic Book Blog

Drive Me Crazy is the third novella in the Girl Next Door Series by C.C. Wood . Each novella stands alone, but since they are each about 3 different friends, the characters cross over. All three books are fun, snarky, sexy reads filled with great banter. At about 100-125 pages each, they are perfect between those big angsty books. This series reminds me of mini Kristen Ashley books -- alpha men, confident, snarky women, and a little danger thrown in. Many novellas make me feel a little ripped off, but C.C. really knows how to tell a good full story in a small amount of pages.

It has been well over a year since I read the first two in the series, and I honestly don't remember Nat and Cat's friend Amy, but that's OK, I really didn't need to remember anything from the previous books to enjoy Drive Me Crazy. I woke up Monday morning, and intended to just read the prologue while I brushed my teeth. 2 hours later, I finished the book (and still didn't brush, or even pee.) I was hooked immediately, and read it straight through. Before I even had coffee!
"The nightmare next door was beginning to seem like the nicest guy I knew."

Amy lives in a duplex. She has a new neighbor, Troy, who she hasn't seen yet, but she has certainly heard him and his crappy music, and his many sexual escapades. He is keeping her up at night and 'driving her crazy'. So Amy decides to retaliate. She knows he is a late sleeper, so she puts on opera, LOUD, early in the morning, and leaves for the day. But when she came home, her neighbor dropped by to tell her off.

"Wow. Okay, so now I kind of understood why all those girls kept going home with Troy."

Dressed like a thug, complete with bling, Amy assumed she was living next to the ultimate in bad boys...even more her type. She also smelled pot a few times around her home and assumed it was him.

"My new neighbor was exactly the kind of man I preferred. He was also exactly the kind of guy who would stomp all over my heart."

Amy, after being burned by enough bad boys, has been dating Grayson, a safe, average guy who is always a gentleman.

"Grayson was considerate and sweet. He also didn't make me feel like I needed to peel off my skin to stop the itchy feeling I got when I was around Troy."

In fact, Amy is realizing Grayson is kind of a dud, but she keeps trying to make it work. Until her house gets egged, and Troy finds her washing her car at 10:00 at night. He tries to help, but Amy is stubborn, so....

"The next thing I knew, his hands went around my waist and he lifted me up, planting my ass down on the car...."
"The kiss was hard, full of fury, and the hottest minute of my life."

As the pranks on Amy escalate to the danger zone, she is forced to stay with Troy for protection. That's when things really heat up.

•Fun, snarky banter. I love flirtatious banter!
•A very full story in a short amount of pages.
•I loved her relationship with Cat and Nat (fellow Targaholics!)
•Troy won me over despite his bling (ugh, bling is not my type).
•Sex scenes that were perfect. Not over the top, no words that make me want to hurl, and totally hot.
•Catching up with Cat and Nat from the two previous books, Friends with Benefits and Frenemies.
•Has that Kristen Ashley feel that I love, compressed into a short novella.
•Troy is yummy and alpha.
•Perfect for in-between big reads.
•Maximum satisfaction from a minimum of pages.
•Great epilogue

•Who was smoking the pot? Obviously NOT Troy.
•CC is good at writing sex, but there wasn't enough in this book.

Rating (Novella rating--you can't compare novellas to full length books): 4.75 stars (something held me back from the full 5, perhaps it was the lack of enough sex) 3.75 Heat (good sex, but not enough).

I enjoyed every second of this little novella. It had everything I love in even a full length book: witty banter, and alpha guy, a strong, snarky girl with fun girlfriends, a little danger and suspense, and sex scenes that work for me. I will be rounding up to 5 stars on all other sites, and know that this is closer to a 5 than a 4.5! I highly recommend reading this whole series, especially if you like Kristen Ashley, RL Mathewson or Alice Clayton. The Girl Next Door Series by C.C. Wood tops my Favorite Quickies (novellas) list, my Top funny, happy romances list, and was on my favorite books of 2012 list

4.5 Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was given and ARC of this book and I must say it was great. I have read several of CC 's books and always enjoy them! I loved the banter between the characters. It was very refreshing having a bad boy like Troy with such a soft heart and Amy is very stubborn and sassy.

Amy has decided to stop falling for her usual men. You know the type Tall, Dark, Handsome, Sexy but full of themselves.

She decides to start seeing Grayson who is the exact opposite of her usual. He is nice but no sparks. Then Troy moves in next door. Amy hears all of his escapes through the wall of their apartment and vows to steer clear of him. Amy decides to cut Grayson loose but in the mean time strange things are happening to her car and apartment. Troy attempts to be of assistance to her and she begins to realize she may have misjudged him. She knows that she should stay away but can she , Troy is a very persuasive man.

I was laughing out loud at some of the things Amy would say, Great Read

HASH(0x8b7b55ac) étoiles sur 5 Don't Judge a book by its cover... 24 janvier 2014

Don't judge a book by its cover is the lesson Amy learns about her troublesome new neighbor Troy in this story.
Contains a bit of a twist and a little suspenseful mystery as well. Who is terrorizing poor Amy?
Plot moves along fairly quickly and would be a good read as a take along for travel. While fairly entertaining
the characters lacked consistency and depth. At times the character of Amy was a little hard to relate to. I have to be honest,
it got a little old hearing about all her expensive belongings/cosmetics/clothing. She seems adamant she does not need a man to rescue her, until the first one comes along. Didn't really know much about Amy except how tall she was and how many friends she had. All in all, if you are looking for a quick and easy read without a lot of depth and emotion, this is the book for you.

HASH(0x8b7b5978) étoiles sur 5 Amy & Troy 12 novembre 2013
Par Julie H - Publié sur
Format: Format Kindle Achat vérifié
Really short read, cute couple but not a lot going on. The drama seemed a little far-fetched. Troy & Amy live next door to each other in a duplex & Amy has an immediate dislike of Troy - she can smell him smoking pot, he plays his music loud, & since he moved in a few weeks ago she has seen about 5 different women come & go. Amy believes at first that she is being pranked by the high school students where she helps out playing piano, but after egging her house the damage really increases with her car being keyed & someone breaking into her house & destroying her bedroom. Troy is a hot, young, very sexy cop so he steps in to protect Amy. He explains that he has been gone for 6 months so the random sex was just a little "friends with benefits" action & there is nothing wrong with that if everyone is clear about the rules. So Amy feels that Troy will treat their hot physical connection as another "friends with benefits" situation which she is uncomfortable with. She quickly falls for him & he doesn't exactly reassure her that they have something more which ticks me off. You can tell when a person needs a little reassurance about how you feel, and since Troy said it is ok as long as everyone is on the same page he should understand that these things need to be talked about so Amy isn't so insecure. Amy dated a man before Troy who was perfect for her but boring as all heck, but that decision is coming back to haunt her. Book was fine, too short, and not enough substance, and Troy just didn't do it for me.

ARC Was Given To Blog For An Honest Review

Amy has had it. Tired of dating the same type of guy, you know the one we all fall for. Good looking bad boy, yea you know the type. Gets your fire going. Yep, well she had enough of that. She decide “I’m gonna take the safe route. Let’s see, not too attractive (check), sweet (check), respectful (check).” Well guess what? WRONG… Seriously, wait till you get a load of Grayson, you’ll see what I mean.

Amy then meets the neighbor, (Hey C.C. I need a address, I want to move into these neighborhoods you create. I need a HOT ALPHA like the Hart brothers or Troy Castillo.)

Troy, and yea he fit the bad boy profile to a T, on the outside that is. Sparks fly and Amy gets caught up in the flames. HOT HOT HOT. Troy, being the alpha male, protect Amy from an unknown assailant. Wait till you find out who it is.

The sexual tension and chemistry between Troy and Amy is so insane they DRIVE each other CRAZY. This was a truly insane journey they went on to find each other’s CRAZY.

C.C. Wood-I absolutely loved this series and want to move in next door. The way the men in this series just take control, but aren’t overbearing. LOVED IT. Loved how all the characters show up in each book, but don’t overpower it. Each couple has their story. Hope you continue this series…there never enough hot guys living next door.
