That being said, you do need to buy a couple of extra bits to play this game, you need a nun chuck holster for your thigh, and resistance bands. A quick search on amazon will find these for you and they are not expensive at all. You can buy versions of the game that come with this accessory pack.
This is the best so far for me. Both the Wii packages were too gentle. Apart from press-ups, sit-ups and running on the spot, nothing in them burnt calories or built strength. They were a good starting point, but once you reach a certain level of fitness, there's nowhere to go.
The first EA Sports Active was a big change in effort. Much harder work-outs and you can really push yourself and work up a sweat. Many times I needed a rest day to allow some ache to recover. But there were some important things missing, like the push-ups and sit-ups I had been doing with the Wii Fit. Even though I was getting fitter, my abs were getting weaker!
More Workouts fixes these problems, and adds some good warm-up and cool-down routines too. I like crocodile twist and windmill stretches.
Sadly, unlike the move from Wii Fit to Wii Fit Plus, EA Sports didn't include all the activities from their first disk in this. I miss the in-line skating and side lunges. This makes good use of the Wii Balance Board, with many step aerobics routines, canoe paddling, push-ups and a few more. The use of it to weigh yourself is fairly useless as it only give results to the nearest Kg.
It's not as much fun as Wii Fit Plus, and I still use that to keep a daily log of my weight and play snowball fight and slalom skiing. But it is the best workout I've tried so far. I've lost weight, built muscle and feel a lot fitter than I've felt for many years!
Also be aware if you have disabilities which make getting on the floor hard or impossible there are exercises you might need to skip. Things like push ups on the balance board and even some cool down regime.
Some of the lowest level exercises seemed very easy and a medium sprint was quite short. There is more than enough to choose from and if only I could master the squash! So far been useless at that one!
Brilliant ideas, helps make my attempts to stay mobile a little more interesting.
More variation in the exercises is a welcome change (if you have the first one you will be bored of lunges),and the obstacle course and running sections are far more appealing than the old running track.
This has been extremely effective for me in combination with several other Wii fitness games but this is the one I do regularly (just coming to the end of the 6 week challenge on hard and will probably start it again immediatley). The others are occasional use when I feel like doing a bit more but something different.
