What is sorbet?
Sorbet is a cool and refreshing dessert usually made from a simply syrup (water and sugar) and fruit or other flavors, often including wine or other spirits.
Sorbet is often confused with sherbet (or sherbert), Italian ice, ice cream, and gelato, and occasionally the terms are used interchangeably. But there is a key difference between the four, and it all comes down to ingredients. Sorbet, unlike sherbet and ice cream, is dairy-free. It’s also usually more dense and flavorful, and the flavors are normally fruit-based.
