Pratique pour multiplier ses port USB. Mais pas très solide si on a beaucoup de manipulation. 2/port hs au bout d'une semaine! Mais assez sympa. Lumière bleu pas trop dérangeante.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 .... You might want to sit down for this one ... 8 juin 2014

Ok, so first...

1.) I love the design of the hub, it's blue LEDs are very bright, almost like a night light when you consider that a PCs 5v source is always on as long as the PC is plugged in, even when the PC is off... I also love having 7 easy to reach ports.
2.) The port has an external power connector, but does NOT come with an external power supply. Still, it seems to work fine for most USB devices (memory sticks, FitBit charging dongle, etc...) My phone says it can pull ~ 450mA from the hub which I'm sure is a limitation of my PCs port rather than the hub.
3.) It's CHEAP, which is always nice.

1.) Ok, brace yourself for this one... When the hub arrived, only 3 of the 7 ports worked for data, the other 4 charged OK, but would not pass USB data... I'm a bit of an electronics guy, so rather than return a CHEAP hub, I opened it up and started diagnosing it. Here's what you're buying.

a.) The PCB is single layer, which means they used conductive tape whenever PCB traces have to cross one another. Longevity? Give me a break. How long do you think the tape will hold? ....
b.) About 40% of the structural, grounding solder joints were not soldered... Lazy manufacturing?
c.) The PCB etchings are NOT tin platted. It has exposed copper pads, which over time will oxidize and become resistive... This is a BAD practice in general.

So, what did I do? I soldered the unsoldered joints, I soldered over the unused, exposed copper, coating them. Then, I saw that the hub is actually 2 hubs in 1... It has two 4-port hubs, one is attached to the other (hence, the 7 port hub) ... the 4 ports that were not working when I bought it were all common to one hub (or chip) .. so, I started testing parts and found that the malfunctioning chip was due to a bad 12Mhz crystal -- I happen to have one of these laying around, so I replaced it and BAM, its fixed. It works beautifully now.

Now, if you're not the type to test every component and feel like gambling on yours being assembled properly to begin with, go for it... Otherwise, stay away from these.

I hope this helps.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great 7-port device hub; not the best for a poor-man's USB switch 9 janvier 2013

Here's a two-part rating. The first and most important concerns its attributes as a device (data-moving) hub. I'm quite happy with it in this capacity, due to the following benefits:

* Compact form factor
* Cool blue lights for each active port (the blue is more saturated and slightly darker than a blue coneflower, if that helps)
* One on/off switch per port (so you can temporarily disable individual devices from being enumerated or unnecessarily powered up)
* All seven ports work (kind of a base requirement, but I'm pleased that they all do)
* Automatic driver installation in Win7/64 (and presumably other OSes as well)
* Black case (goes better with my other components)
* Positive engagement of the USB-A plugs (not loose at all, but not difficult to insert)

* Just discovered today that it doesn't supply a huge amount of power for charging. I was attempting to recharge a small 1500mAh backup battery and running two other devices -- a wired keyboard and a wireless mouse (the dongle for it). When I started charging the battery, the mouse jerked around and then stopped working. This abated when I used the hub's convenient switch to turn off the battery. I've plugged in the hub to a 5v power supply to remedy this.
* Minor: the device is lightweight and thus is capsized by the cables I have plugged into it. This is a nit not worth docking a point for, rather just an FYI in case this sort of thing matters to you.
* Some people may find the LEDs a bit bright (then again, it gets flipped over by cables, so the LEDs don't aim up, anyway).

Other thoughts
The power issue is a little annoying, but I'll live. I won't dock the device a star for this, but it is something future buyers should be aware of.

And here's where the review from the standpoint of a hub ends. Read on, if you want to try using this device to share peripherals between two computers by way of swapping plugs.

The integral USB-A cable, rather than a USB-B socket with a B-male or mini-male to A-male cable supplied, slightly derails my original game plan for swapping peripherals between two computers using two interchanged USB-mini male plugs (one each per computer). I clearly see this pictured on the item page, and thus I won't be dropping any points from the rating of a fine piece of equipment. This is just a heads-up for those of you who might want to use this excellent hub like I plan to. I have purchased USB A (female) to USB A (male) extensions and all is well. I just switch manually, which beats a KVM that ultimately does unpredictable things or enforces keyboard emulation.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 If you actually want USB 2.0, this is not for you 21 mars 2015

Product arrived on time and in good condition, but it is NOT USB 2.0. All of the switches and ports worked fine, but I could only get sub-USB 1.1 transfer speeds. I was using tested devices already running perfectly on a 4port hub, I just needed more ports. I do not recommend this item to anyone expecting it to function as USB 2.0.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 4 Port and 7 Port Hubs 9 avril 2016
Par JK - Publié sur

I originally wrote this review on the 4 port hub, and found that I had the exact same issues with the 7 port hub!

While this 4 port hub isn't available anymore, the 7 port still is. One by one, each port crapped out! Now there are 'no ports' working on it!

AND after I went through the trouble of finding, 'and buying', the right power supply for it! Now it's garbage!

In fact looking back at my history, I find that I also bought 'two' of the 7 port hubs!

If my rememory serves me, the first one 'crapped out', (and after buying a power supply specifically for that one), and I wound up buying another because I couldn't use the power supply for anything else!

Finding a power supply with just the right plug on it, isn't easy! Especially when the seller doesn't supply that information!

And the power supply usually costs more than the hub itself!

I'd stay away from both the 4 port, and the 7 port hubs, as I've had both, and they're both a piece of s***!

I've got 'two' power supplies sitting here now! NICE... Like when being on a fixed income, I really need to waste that money!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Quality Hub for Small Price! 6 novembre 2012
Par Kevin - Publié sur

This 7-Port USB hub looks and works like a boss! It comes with 7 ports, 3 more than the usual 4 port hubs, for the same price as a 4 port hub; I only paid 5 dollars total. And what make this hub even better is that it features on/off switches for each individual port, allowing you to shut off what you don't need at the time without removing the USB device. This product also features blue led lights to indicate whether a port is on or off; for those who may be worried if they are too bright, they are not, rather they are just perfect...there are matte plastic covers over the led lights, reducing its overall brightness. Now when i tested the speed of the USB 2.0, I tried copying 1.2 GB of music from my computer to a flash drive plugged in the hub, it wrote at a speed of roughly 5 MB/s. Doing the same thing but instead with a media file it copied at a rate of 6-7 MB/s. I repeated what I mentioned instead directly plugged into the computer USB port and found the same speeds. Therefore, the product should be of USB 2.0 quality, and remember the write speeds are limited depending on your computer so you shouldn't base any speeds off my statistical data, this was just to show you whether this hub is really USB 2.0 (my computer ports are USB 2.0).

Other thoughts: As you may have noticed in the picture, this hub can be powered with an ac adapter, but unfortunately that does not come with this purchase. Also, when I bought this, I thought i would be getting a brick size hub, but it really isn't how the picture seems, it is very small (roughly 6.5 x 1.5 inches long x wide) and it is very light-weight yet durable.

Final Thoughts: This product works like a pro and comes in a low price. If you need a USB hub to expand your computer ports and runs USB 2.0, you should look no further as this product has everything you would want for a small price.
