I found this book while it was free and downloaded it because I have recently started up my own mailing list. I have to say, this author really knows his stuff. This is definitely the most thorough email marketing book I've ever read and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to start a mailing list.

One thing that I really liked is how the author includes a list of "Key Takeaways" at the end of every chapter. Basically they are just a bullet pointed summary of what we covered in the chapter but I have found them extremely helpful. The only thing I think the author should have done, but didn't do, is include all of the key takeaways together in one spot at the end of the book. That would make this book pure gold, a must have for every email marketer's tool-kit.

All in all, this is most definitely a 5 star book and I don't know why the author lists the books for only $0.99, (as of 07/31/2013) they're worth at least $3.99, if not more.

I'm new to Marketing. I've run the gamut in an administrative capacity, but there's always been a Marketing Department or a Marketing person to go to and now there isn't. Now...it's me. When I came across Michael Rogan's Email Marketing That Doesn't Suck, I got that first vibe of the one-two punch and out of curiousity and a little desperation, I began to read. Like the review title implies, his voice lends itself to that of a friend letting you in on a secret. A secret that friend is so excited about that even written, the words seems to tumble over themselves. I can almost see Mr. Rogan gesturing as he goes through some of the steps. The book is a little on the long side and some things seem obvious, but then what's that saying about can't see the forest for the trees? If you're looking for some good tips and tricks to get you started if you're a novice to the email marketing world or if your a veteran marketer, there's a little something for everyone.

I have to say, during my search for some good marketing books, I came across this cheep book which I was expecting to be...well cheep. luckily I was wrong and happened to stumble upon a pot of gold! Michal Rogan is excellent at giving detailed, step by step instructions that's to the point about how to OBTAIN, as well as MAINTAIN a healthy email following. The best part about it is that it's personal, straight forward, NOT 4000 pages about nothing, and make sense. Time and time again I read about how some famous (or even semi-famous) entity did this magic trick to obtain a bunch of email subscribers! Sure it's a great idea and all, but that seems fitting for someone with 10,000 followers to begin with! HOW DOES IT WORK FOR THE LITTLE GUY?! Finally someone wrote the book that answers the question! Looking forward to reading the others on Facebook marketing and Video Marketing that I bought too.

Another great marketing guide from Michael Rogan. It pointed out where my email marketing is flawed and gave simple suggestions on how to improve. I now know that what I have been doing is too "salesy" and I need to hit the emotional side with my email. Love the easy, down to earth style of writing as with his other marketing books its a must read for business owners.
