Claire Hayes is an experienced EFT tapping practitioner with over 30 years of working one to one with clients in the fields of expressive dance, Shiatsu and EFT. Her approach is based on a deep understanding of how emotion and energy are embodied. It's so refreshing to find a self help book which actually does help by giving you a tool you can use for the rest of your life. The author guides you through the process of Emotional Freedom Technique in a really easy to follow way. The prose is very well written and you get a real feel for how the author wants to help yet also empower you to help yourself. It's a way to clear out the junk in your head without having to drag it all up, relive it or talk endlessly about it. You identify current emotions and feelings and get rid of them or improve them. It's really powerful to be in control of how you feel! I never realized how simple EFT is to do, and I think this is largely because of how the author explains EFT (tapping on meridian points in the body), how she's used it, and how other people use it. The book contains LOADS of realllllly useful tapping "scripts" which are also very well written, thought provoking and actually do help e.g. I am not (I insert the word "confident" enough. You are then taken through the things to say to explore this feeling as you tap through the meridian points on your body and watch how the emotion changes, identify what's really up, clear the negative self image and feel better. I wish they taught this stuff in schools! I tend to open the book and whatever page it lands on is usually the thing I need help with. It's uncanny but when you trust, it is fascinating to see how your brain works, and how ultimately you can help it to feel better. It's not until you start working on it that you realize how much of an issue it has been sometimes but the author shows you how to be a detective to help you understand your own behavior and patterns and emotions. I do feel much happier as a result of trying this EFT book already and if something happens which freaks me out, I just tap on how I feel and notice the emotions change and improve. Well worth the money as far as I am concerned, just a brilliant helpful book that I wish I'd had years ago.

I am fascinated with the concept of self awareness. I have only just begun my own personal journey to becoming more aware of the reasons behind my actions. Only 35 pages in and I could already identify some of the factors that are limiting my self worth. I am subconsciously resisting happiness and this book literally walks me step by step to identifying the problem and uncovering the multiple layers and the emotions beneath the issue.

I could not be more thrilled with the diagrams and links to supporting material. It allows me to dive a bit deeper.

Possibly my favorite exercise is visualizing fresh breaths of energy. Then, when breathing out, the gush of air releases negative thoughts and feelings. It is incredibly effective; although, I will admit it felt a bit awkward the first few times.

I'm amazed at how simple yet profound the ideas presented in this book are. The idea that your thoughts become your beliefs is striking. As I read over this particular line of thought, I became enlightened. I have allowed my thoughts to make presumptions and classifications about certain things that are far from fact. The idea that "want" can mean that what I already have is not enough was shocking.

This book is exceptional, I highly recommend it to everyone - happy or not. It will change your life.

Review of Everyday Happiness by Claire Hayes

As someone who has been lucky enough to hear author and EFT therapist Claire Hayes speak in person, I saw immediately at first hand that her key skill is in communicating her rare knowledge, professionalism and experience with huge natural warmth, humour and insight. Delving into this eminently readable book is JUST like being in the same room as her – in fact, like finding a new friend. In dealing with an issue as crucial and, one would think, unreachable, as teaching Everyday Happiness, the book’s “chatty”, informal and in parts very amusing and self effacing style immediately engages the reader, but at the same time, the wisdom it contains is profound . Claire Hayes’s lovely book is useful as a practical tool for positive thinking, whether or not one decides to use the practical EFT exercises so well outlined and explained. She is honest about her OWN past struggles, particularly with her autistic daughter, and her own path to overcoming her own personal challenges, which I found enormously touching and which gave the book depth. The reader will feel led by the hand down a clearly marked path which they will want to follow. The book is laid out in a novel, step by step and very readable way – plenty of sub headings and short paragraphs keep the reader’s attention. Everyday Happiness as a book provides the reader with a fabulous tool-kit for dealing with both deeper long-term as well as everyday short-term problems and issues and will, I believe, if followed, provide a real way for changing the way one thinks about life. I am still marginally resistant to EFT – but 100% less so since reading this book and would certainly recommend it to all those who want to deepen their understanding of themselves.

This is a hugely helpful guide for how to use tapping in one's daily life to bring about significant improvements in every area - self-love, health, relationships, abundance, etc. Claire writes clearly and with the certainty that comes from having experienced EFT's amazing powers in her own life and having witnessed it in others' lives. If you're looking for an easy, actually doable approach to self transformation, this book should be your guide.

Very clear writing. Great suggestions and the book is fun to use. The author gives you a starting place no matter where you are in your EFT understanding and in your life circumstances. Nice job author, I like your fresh approach.
