Présentation de l'éditeur

The last thing the world needs is another "get-rich-like-me," self-proclaimed expert on what it takes to work for yourself. Anti-guru Paul Jarvis has written Everything I Know as a no-rules guide through uncharted territory with stories based on his two decades of freelancing.

Instead of offering one-size-fits-all advice, Paul provides an infinitely flexible template for adventure. There is a better, more satisfying path out there, if you’re willing to take risks and explore new territory. This book provides practical ideas and questions to help you conquer fear, overcome inertia, embrace vulnerability, validate your plans and most importantly, launch them.

How and where you go next is entirely up to you.

“Paul Jarvis is a lively, talented and incredibly insightful writer.”
—Maccabee Montandon, Fast Company

“Paul Jarvis is the friend that every creative needs: friendly, whip-smart, & willing to give you a kick in the ass every now & then.”
—Sean Blanda, Adobe/99u

HASH(0x8eaf4a2c) étoiles sur 5 He doesn't know everything. But what he does know is a worthy read... 20 novembre 2013

Everything I Know is a fairly short read that reveals itself more like a kick in the ass than a fireside chat, which is a very good thing for those folks who get caught up in reading about getting work done instead of actually getting work done.

Not everything in this book will work for you, but a lot of it will. Some of it may seem fresh and some of it may serve as a reminder; I experienced both as I read it. Paul Jarvis is a great writer and is someone who works very hard on getting better at his craft. If you're looking to get better at your craft and find yourself in a state of "stuckness" or in a recurring state of not knowing what to do now (and not next), then get yourself a copy of Everything I Know. Paul Jarvis may not know everything, but what he does know is valuable...and definitely worth reading.

This book is hard to get through because each page just makes me want to put it down and start down my path. This book is exactly the kick in the pants I needed.

When I first bought this book I wasn't sure it be worth my read because I work in the same industry as Paul Jarvis. What more could I learn or what else could be said? I was totally wrong! I appreciated the down to earth and honest advice that Paul gives. He wrote things I knew, but needed to hear from someone else. His words are inspiring and filled with value. What I appreciate about this book is that it's not another "how to" book -- it's a story of a man who isn't afraid to be himself. I'll definitely read it again!

A very solid book about creativity and art. It's the equivalent of sitting down for a chat with Jarvis while he gives you a hug and reassures you that the unpredictability of your work is to be expected. It reminded me of Jonathan Fields 'Uncertainty' and Srinivas Rao's 'Small Army Strategy.'

The book isn't a manual and doesn't contain much in terms of strategy. What it does give you is an insight into Pauls creative process and his perspectives on creation. I really liked it

HASH(0x8eaf9450) étoiles sur 5 Honesty is why I read Paul Jarvis 24 décembre 2013

Paul is a refreshingly honest voice in a growing symphony of unoriginality. It’s nice to read something that just comes right out and lays it true with no promises or guarantees attached.

This book is not about what to do or how to do it. It’s about being unapologetically you and providing some guidance to help shape the journey to work that aligns with your values.

It’s refreshing in an age of experts to hear someone just say - “look, I’ve done it, but don’t just listen to me, listen to yourself.”

Read this book if you’re tired of formulas and just want some human added into the equation.
