Please note that the 2* is my personal rating on the boot. If I had a lower arch, I'm sure there would be many, many more stars. First off, these boots are BREATHTAKING. I opened the box and even my husband, who usually has zero interest in anything I put on my feet, commented on how beautiful (ok, he didn't actually use the word beautiful) and high quality the leather was. I slid one on my foot and... no wait, I didn't slide one on my foot... because I couldn't. I have average width feet with average height arches and my foot had zero chance of making it through the shaft and around the heel into this boot. I suppose I could have some slippery tights and squeezed into it with abundant force but Frye boots have a reputation of lasting for years and tights are not my every day attire. And I had visions of having to literally cut the boot off my foot to remove it. It reminded me a little of the episode of Friends where Ross gets stuck in the leather pants. So here I had these boots - probably the most gorgeous boots I've ever had in my possession - and there was no way I could keep them. It was a sad, sad day.
If you have low arches, or maybe even medium-low, buy these. They are worth the money and you'll be the envy of all - or at least of me.
