Présentation de l'éditeur

In the forty years since his death, Fujita Seiko has been a man of mystery, rumor and conjecture. Little of substance existed to bring the facts of his career to life, yet all agree that he made his mark by claiming to be the “last ninja.”

Now, Hevener brings Fujita’s career to life. Here, for the first time, you will learn of Fujita’s early training, his role during World War II, and the high regard with which his contemporaries held his abilities and accomplishments. Ultimately, you will learn of the fate of his martial arts legacy, including his mysterious and controversial Wada-ha Koga-ryu ninjutsu.

I wrote this biography of Fujita Seiko because I couldn't understand why it hadn't already been done! Here is a man who not only claimed to be "The Last Ninja," but, was also a prolific author of books on Japanese budo.

In life, Fujita was a student of Ninjutsu, Jujutsu, Jojutsu, Shurikenjutsu, and many other arts, including the gendai arts of Judo, Kendo and Karate. His influence was profound and expansive, with his reach touching all of the great masters of his day, Motobu, Mabuni, Funakoshi, Taira, Ueshiba, etc.

In death, he was a mystery, which in the West, resulted in the unscrupulous use of his name by certain individuals claiming to be modern Koga Ninja. In my book you will learn how all of the dynamics surrounding this strange man, can be understood. It is work that will be instructive to those practicing all of the arts mentioned above.

Great historical book. Keeps to the facts while keeping the mystery of the ninja alive. Any one with an interest in martial arts or military history would enjoy this recounting. The photos from WWII authenticate the real man.

HASH(0x9615aabc) étoiles sur 5 A welcome body of information, in a sea of mass-produced spin.... 22 octobre 2014

Hevener dug deep to find this info, and I salute his impartiality, as a Bujinkan Member, to present the facts behind the other member of the Ninjutsu family: The Koga Clan. While Hatsumi has the market cornered with Iga Clan and Bujinkan Ninjutsu, it's refreshing to see info. come out on the Koga Clan, which up until now, many claimed as falacy. Well, it's not folks, and this book dispels the inaccuracies, stories and claims. While Iga / Bujinkan had Toda & Takamatsu, Koga had Seiko, a very real & irreverent character who literally dragged Ninjutsu kicking and screaming into the 20th century. This book also presents little-known information about the Kenpo/Ninjutsu connection, and brings it to light. Some claim Koga died out...not so. While Iga & Bujinkan have captured the world's attention ( and marketshare), Koga has been quietly spread in true Ninjutsu fashion, incognito to the masses, through a handful of people who have followed in Seiko's footsteps. This book sets the record straight about this "shadowy" figure, and sets the stage for the future of the the "quiet-child" of Ninjutsu...Koga. Aoengus

This book does a terrific job of filling in many of the holes in the story of the life and times of the "last Koga ninja." For anyone interested in martial arts history, it's a must have. Congratulations to the author for ferreting out such a fascinating story. Sometimes truth is more interesting than fiction.
