5.0 étoiles sur 5 I absolutely love these pups 7 novembre 2014

Don't trust the first reviewer's assessments. He was mad about the DC resistance and gave it one star? His review is vague and totally misleading towards the quality of this product. I absolutely love these pups, they sound awesome and that is what the review should be based on... I replaced the stock pups in my 2013 MIM Tele that I am converting to 60's style but still keeping the maple neck. The tone is exactly what I was looking for. Still has all the twang you could ever want in a Tele pup but they also scream when you want them to. If you are looking to get a little more growl out of your Tele than these are your pups. They are great for just about any style you would want to play. Well, maybe not Metal but pretty much everything else. I play a lot of blues, garage rock and shoegaze. All of these styles sound amazing through these pups and My AC30. A side note. I did upgrade all of the hardware and electronics on my guitar, including cloth wire and a vintage cap. This does play into the sound quality but even without these upgrades I am positive that these pups are worth it. I highly recommend!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 This is the Tele tone you've been looking for. 6 novembre 2014

You could say that, dollar for dollar, these are the best sounding Tele pickups you can get. But I think it's more accurate to say that these are among the best sounding Tele pickups at ANY price point. The boutique pickup world is awash in some truly excellent Tele electronics; and bespoke pickup sets costing upward of $300 or more are not uncommon. Sure, these crazy expensive PUs sound good-- excellent even. But how do these Fender reproduction PUs sound in comparison? Simply put, as good, or better. I installed these in a Fender Japan Telecaster with a single piece body (a rarity!) and the last little bits of tone hiding in the instrument were coaxed out load and clear. The bridge PU has all the honk and sparkle you could want, but is mercifully free from the icepick-to-the-forehead treble that can be more pain than twang. The neck PU has a warm yet defined color. Never muddy, it has a relatively flat response which produces rich sounding chords and round, punchy lead lines. Together in the middle position, these PUs produce a wonderful, exciting rhythm color with just the right amount of shimmer. The string separation is excellent, and when pushed into overdrive, the inner harmonics really leap out in a beautifully balanced tone. They do alter your pick attack somewhat, but not in a bad way. There's still plenty of traditional, percussive "smack" on the transients, but it is more focused, and very responsive to your technique. The bridge position is RWRP for a hum canceling effect in the middle position, but even without extensive shielding these are very quiet single coils which do not squeal when the gain is dimed. If you want to add tone and even more stylistic versatility to your Tele, you can't go wrong with a NoCaster set

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Custom Shop Texas Specials 13 novembre 2011

I just installed these on my 2011 mim fender telecaster--so far I love the new sounds! These pick ups are very hot and twangy. The neck and bridge (top and bottom) positions have remarkably improved (the neck sounding deeper and 'chimey' and the bridge very clear and bright), but it is the middle position (on my 3 way tone switch) that has completely transformed (pulling the the deep and the bright tones together--a fantastic marriage of both sounds that is well balanced. It has also canceled the slight hum that was present when plugged up to my Vox ac15c1)!
For those who decide to 'do it yourself,' the installation was not that difficult (from start to finish, it took about 2 hours). I recommend to those with little experience to youtube a few videos on how to wire this up to your guitar ( a few tips: adding flux and soldering the wires ensures an excellent connection. Also use heat shrink tubing so that your newly soldered wires are covered snug and professionally. And lastly before the install, make sure the pick ups test exact or close to their electrical output that the packaging lists ).
I highly recommend these to anyone attempting to upgrade the sound of their mim fender or squier teles. I am now in tone tweaking heaven.
Cheers!
5.0 étoiles sur 5 In love with these guys. Just don't try a four-way with them! 8 juin 2016

Do NOT try to wire these with a four way switch!!! I spent at least 30 maddening hours trying to do just that. When Monday came and I called a Stewmac engineer he told me "Can't be done." I never, nor since, have read that anywhere!
Now, after wiring them 3 way, they are beautiful. The bridge tested out at 7.70k whatchamagiggers and the neck at 11.94k ohms and the bridge is pretty hot. I also installed a treble bleed cap/resistor from Stewmac ($6 or so) and the sound is sweet and really quiet at all volumes. For the first time in months, I turned off my Tube Screamer because it just didn't sound right with these guys. Gotta love that twang, especially with the compression all the way up. A fantastic upgrade.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Good, Neck doesn't have cloth wiring 18 décembre 2014

I bought this set and ended up just using the neck pickup with an Seymour Duncan BG1400. They sound good together. Only the bridge has the cloths wiring, the neck pickup has the cheaper plastic covered wires. This is the only Fender Custom Shop pickup set that I've received with plastic covered wires. I've purchased other Fender Custom Shop pickups and all had the cloth wiring.
