Feng Shui (pronounced ‘Fung Schway’) is an ancient Chinese methodology that originated about 3000 years ago. Originally, Chinese Tombs followed the principles of Feng Shui and were positioned in warm and comfortable locations. Slowly, as people discovered its numerous benefits, the practice extended to homes, shops and offices.
The real roots of Feng Shui can be traced much further back to about 28,000 years ago, when Neanderthal cavemen (inhabiting the region around modern Croatia) positioned their caves close to water sources, at a height enabling them to view the surrounding lands. The first rules for Feng Shui were laid down way back then.
Even today, the entrance to a home and its proximity to water play an important role in Feng Shui, so the basic principles have not changed much.
Feng Shui works around the concept that for a successful, peaceful and happy life, you need positive life energy or ‘Chi’ as it is traditionally called. By making changes to the position and placements of objects around your home, you can realign energies to bring in more ‘Chi.’
The art of Feng Shui also helps minimize negative energies in your immediate surroundings, paving the way for greater personal and professional success. Since we live in our surroundings (both at work as well as at home), Feng Shui has a deep and lasting effect on our lives at all times, even though we might not really be aware of it.
The design of our surroundings influences our lives twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Feng Shui optimizes your daily life by creating harmony rather than leaving your surroundings to chance.
Typically we have simply arrangedour own interiors the best we can. After all, who can afford those expensive interior designers anyway? But more often than not, these arrangements tend to block smooth flows of energy. Since this energy is not visible to the naked eye, we are not aware that valuable energy is unable to flow. The result is that good energy is hampered by wrongly placed obstacles that hinder its flow and you often experience various setbacks in your personal or professional life.
Feng Shui is able to realign the non-living aspects of our surroundings with its living components. Rearrangement of objects following Feng Shui principles has a deep effect on your thoughts and actions and this in turn influences other important spheres of your life. Following Feng Shui enables you to loosen up energy flow paths by removing obstacles previously in the way.
What might surprise you even more is that not only do these principles work effectively in the physical design of a home or office, but can also improve specific events and life matters in a woman’s life!
