First paragraph doesn't make sense. Broken English. Ingredient list in some recipes are either incomplete or inaccurate which comes to light when you read the instructions. A lot of misspelled words. Don't know if I would really trust the recipes.

WASTE of time! The editor in me started freaking out the first paragraph; the grammar is so bad that much of what I read makes no sense. Words are missing that ought to be there for the sentences to BE sentences at all! Do not bother to pay even a penny for this.

Content reads as if notes were taken from an elementary school text and then strung together with a few large words mixed in-- child level basic, at the same time, badly written and with that terrible grammar something I would never ever give to a child for fear it might stunt their language development. It is an insult to the intelligence of an adult reader.

Furthermore, this reads as if the author collected posts off a fermentation page or group then strung them together. So recipes seem incomplete as another reviewer wrote, and the formatting is so poorly done that you will have to dig for any ingredient list you might need-- but why bother? There are FABULOUS books out there on this subject. Skip this one and go buy a copy of something like WILD FERMENTATION (by Sandor Katz) or NOURISHING TRADITIONS (by Sally Fallon) or FERMENTED (by Jill Ciciarelli) or.... there are really good books on the topic out there!

Do not waste your money.

perfect for first timers doing fermentation. easy kraut making as well as pickles. fermented veggies are great for the tummy.

The concept of the book is great, but Torin Waters is in dire need of an editor and English lessons. If it's a translation, Waters should get the fee back. Bringing the book up on Kindle (loc. 20), the very first sentence is confusing, especially when you get past "veggies. . .is". I'll look at the rest of it once I stop cringing, since the subject is important and interesting.

We (meaning my wife) recently learned to can fish. I got this book and the wife decided to give it a try. It seemed a little scary fixing food this way, but it turned out to be really good. We (she) did a batch of carrots. I hope she makes more.
