Présentation de l'éditeur

[Siren Everlasting Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, werewolves, HEA] Parker Southard grew up in a very strange family. All he wanted was to be normal. He shunned what his grandmother tried to teach him. But soon he finds that the one thing he tried to run from has caught up to him and the thing that he turned his back on might be the very thing that saves him. When Rayne DeSilva pulls a car crash victim from a wreck on the back roads of Brac Village, he soon learns that the man he has been looking for his entire life might not survive. It was a miracle that Parker was even alive. When Marino Malone discovers Parker's secret, he sends in his two goons to kidnap Parker. But little does Marino know that Parker isn't so easily threatened. Rayne must convince Parker to embrace who he is if his mate is not only going to survive, but have a fighting chance at happiness. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

HASH(0x9b9c8600) étoiles sur 5 Not a Solid HEA, Too Many Unsolved Questions and Threads. . . 15 janvier 2014

While I enjoyed the story and eagerly awaited the ebook version . . . . I didn't feel Parker and Rayne's story was complete. The mating was delayed and then happens off camera. We hear about it after the fact, we don't experience it first hand.

Parker was targeted by Marino Malone, kidnapped, and the last we hear of Parker and Rayne is they take shelter with the Lakelands (Bears). So they're still in danger yet the story ends.

So we know they're mated yet their situation is up in the air. Because of the threats they can't move in together, in their own place. They can't even go to work. And I did wonder why Rayne, who is a wolf, didn't ever contact Maverick or the Pack . . . I assumed he was part of the pack or maybe not. A lone wolf? That was another point left hanging.

Because of the unsatisfying and abrupt ending for Parker and Rayne, I didn't feel this was a complete HEA. The brief cross over from the Demon Warrior's Series with Panahasi . . . He is FINALLY able to tell his vampire sons who is he and how he's watched over them, etc. etc. While I was glad there was closure on that issue, I was shocked Panahasi didn't go reaffirm his bonds with his two mates first. Here the guy was missing, presumed dead, but is able to regain his life and the first thing he does is talk to his sons? !! The main theme in these books is mates are precious, they are the other half of their soul, they die without them, so for Panahasi, who has waited and put off his mates to assist his own people - To do that and then come 'back from the dead' to not reclaim them. ..That bothered me.

So yes this one ends with cliff hangers and we know we'll get answers. . . But I'm getting tired of so many threads and cross overs from series to series. I used to like them but with this story we now have Parker's family and their story, his nana, we still have the Keeper and it looks like we'll be fed breadcrumbs on him . . . We still have Marino Malone and his evil crew, Maverick's grandson was recovered but never anything about a reunion between the child and his parents. . . Just a brief little side note after we hear all about how Maverick was going insane trying to find his grandson. . . How is mate Cecil was lost without his mate and what he was doing to recover the child. Don't you think if a child is kidnapped there should be a reunion with the parents and a big to do with fences mended between Maverick and Melonee's men? I doubt I read anywhere in all ?five? series that Maverick is now on good terms with his sons-in-law. Correct me if I'm wrong but Maverick never approved of Melonee's mates.

It seems the longer these series go, the more characters to remember, the more questions and cross over plots are left hanging. I'm finding answers rather late and am unfulfilled at the answers as I stated on two different issues above. While I've enjoyed the series up to this point, I'm reaching the point where things are going downhill. - Dan's Wife

HASH(0x9b9d2240) étoiles sur 5 Hot Wolfie Fireman and his mate - nice addition to the series. 14 janvier 2014

This is a more involved book than we have been seeing and it is a nicely involving read.

Parker is a human who escapes a horrible car crash with minimal injuries. Rayne is a fireman who attends the crash and smells his mate in Parker. He jumps in the ambulance and travels with him to Brac Village medical centre. He learns Parker is miraculously not hurt as seriously as Rayne feared and he visits his mate the next day.
How do you court your mate when they can't work out why you are there in their hospital room? Where your mate is so strong minded he threatens your nether regions with his arm cast if you don't leave him alone? Who tells security in the hospital not to let you in? Carefully is the answer - but persistently as well.
Not all is as it seems with Parker. He works at the Pit and although he appears human there is a an underlying scent that isn't. What is he? We meet a new race of paranormals in this book plus revisit the Shadow Elves, Marino Malone, Panahasi and others. I also like that the crossovers don't consume the book. There is more of the mysterious Sebastian Brac - but not too much.
There is danger and intrigue. There is mystery and mayhem. And then things turn weird when Parker's Nanna comes to stay. Parker is kidnapped and asked to perform a ritual - boy is he ever glad he didn't do his lessons!
I like that there is a build up of tension, that the relationship doesn't start off or run smoothly. It all adds to the enjoyment factor. But things do tend to resolve a little easily, the tide turns in the favour of the wolf relatively quickly.
This is an excellent addition to the series and well worth your time.

I simply did not like the story. The book was very well written in my opinion.
I asked a friend to read the book again for me. The result was the same. Did not like the story and did not finish the book.

I am giving two different reviews for this book, because as has happened in a few of her previous books, Ms. Lynn will write about the couple that the blurb describes and then toward the end will have one or two chapters on all of the drama going on with Maverick, Panahasi, or Christian. So, here goes;
The part of the book that is about Parker and Rayne is worthy of about 3 1/2 stars. It has drama, adventure, and some humor. We get a surprise where Parker is concerned and it makes things a bit more intriguing. There is 'mating' in the book, but we don't get the scene where they bite and bond. That is probably my least favorite thing about this book, because they dwell on that strongly in the beginning and then we don't get to read about it happening until after the fact.
Now the last bit in This book gets 4 full stars because it wraps up loads of loose ends, we get some very long standing issues resolved and are left with huge smiles all around! The people who are in the last part of this book, really, really deserved what was written for them, and I was so glad that it happened. I can only hope that Ms. Hagen gives us updates periodically so we can keep tabs on these characters we have come to love.

Okay I have plenty of problems with this book.... Don't get me wrong I love this also stories I love this whole universe she has created... But the problems I have with this book was Parker was annoying I didn't understand why he didn't except that he was a mage.... Even after everything he went through he steel wasn't excepting.... I also didn't understand why they didn't go immediately to Maverick or the other leaders to explain what was going on with Marino that should've been the first thing that came out of their mouth when Ahm came to take them to the Lakeland ranch... Sometimes I think this author has written so many books in this universe she can't keep stuff straight.... But I'm still a fan of the series and will continue to read but this was just not my favorite.... The only reason why I gave it three stars is because of the ending ....
