Présentation de l'éditeur

FORBIDDEN ARCHEOLOGY
by Michael A. Cremo and Richard L. Thompson
Over 200,000 copies sold in 18 languages.

Over the centuries, researchers have found bones and artifacts proving that humans like us have existed for millions of years. Mainstream science, however, has suppressed these facts. Prejudices based on current scientific theory act as a 'knowledge filter', giving us a picture of prehistory that is largely incorrect.

Scientific Establishment Found Guilty of Witholding Evidence

The evolutionists’ “knowledge filter” at work over the last 200 years has left us with a radically altered view of our human origins and antiquity. Since 1993, when the controversial book, Forbidden
Archeology, was first published it has shocked the scientific world with its extensive evidence for extreme human antiquity. It documents hundreds of anomalies in the archeological record that
contradict the prevailing theory and shows how this massive amount of evidence was systematically “filtered” out. This book puts all the “pieces” on the table. You can then judge for yourself how objective the scientific community is in its pursuit of knowledge!

“Forbidden Archeology is a remarkably complete review of the scientific evidence concerning human origins. It carefully evaluates all the evidence, including the evidence that has been ignored because it does not fit the dominant paradigm. Anyone can learn a great deal from the authors’ meticulous research and analysis, whatever one concludes about their thesis regarding the antiquity of human beings.”
—Dr. Phillip E. Johnson, University of California, Berkeley, author of Darwin on Trial

“I perceive in Forbidden Archeology an important work of thoroughgoing scholarship and intellectual adventure. Forbidden Archeology ascends and descends into the realms of the human construction of scientific ‘fact’ and theory: postmodern territories that historians, philosophers, and sociologists of scientific knowledge are investigating with increasing frequency. . . .
With exacting research into the history of paleoanthropological discovery, Cremo and Thompson zoom in on the epistemological crisis of the human fossil record, the process of disciplinary
suppression, and the situated scientific handling of ‘anomalous evidence’ to build persuasive theory and local institutions of knowledge and power.”
—Dr. Pierce J. Flynn, Department of Arts and Science, California State University, San Marcos

“Forbidden Archeology, written primarily for the layman, provides a critical review of evidence relevant to human evolution. In addition, the book will serve as a valuable resource of forgotten literature, which is usually not easily accessible. If it stimulates professional reinvestigation of reports not fitting the current paradigm on human evolution, Forbidden Archeology will have contributed
to the advancement of knowledge of the history of mankind.”
—Dr. Siegfried Scherer, Institute for Microbiology, Technical Universtiy of Munich, Germany

“One of the landmark intellectual achievements of the late 20th century…Sooner or later, whether we like it or not, our species is going to have to come to terms with the facts that are so impressively documented…and these facts are stunning.”
—Graham Hancock, author, Fingerprints of the Gods

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Very Technically Written - Textbook Quality, But Not a Compelling or Easy Read 13 septembre 2016
Par brynn - Publié sur Amazon.com

I had high hopes for this book. I have always been skeptical of scientists who felt all manner of scientific testing and knowledge that exists - or will ever exist, is currently known, and are dismissive of any alternate ideas that may not mesh with theirs. Very arrogant in my opinion and one only needs to read scientific and medical books from the 18th and 19th centuries - since they thought they held all knowledge also - to see how incredibly wrong they may be proven to be someday. Anyway, I've always been an archeology and anthropology buff - albeit an amateur buff AND loved the idea of finds that could shake up the establishment. I was interested in a compelling read, but this book is not something I'd keep at my bedside table. This is textbook quality and I wish I had read the lower star reviews before purchasing - it's so dry and technical, and is definitely not written for the lay reader. I'm a voracious reader with a medical background, so I read at a decent level, but I just couldn't get into it. I'm very interested in the ideas put forward by the author, but this book isn't what I thought it was. While the author does his homework and provides example (after example, after example) of technical minutia - we're talking ancient stone edges - arguing whether the flakes at the edges were naturally formed or man made - I was bored and didn't want to continue. This type of writing makes up a most of the book. There are virtually no photos, and really a minimum of line drawings, considering there are 900 pages. I was very disappointed. If you are a scientist looking for alternate views, this may interest you. If you are a lay reader looking for interesting and compelling finds, photos and revelations - I'd look elsewhere. Three stars since it seems well researched and documented, but it is just not fun to read. Since the book is so pricy, I'm sending it back.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Really, How long has man has been here? 15 septembre 2015

This is a fascinating book, especially with the findings lately of a cousin of ours. Guarding reputations, newer findings which do not substantiate previous finds have to be ignored. Well, I well remember the Piltdown man. He sort of made me a skeptic when it came to expert's announcements. I hope they get a real fix on how long man has been on earth before I die, but I am not holding my breath.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great Book 2 décembre 2010

As an engineering student that is minoring in anthropology, I actually read the whole book to get an insight into our human history. I found the book interesting and I believe one definitely has to keep an open mind as to what the truth is, pertaining to our origins. I thought the authors presented their information in an orderly manner, and the did their best to explain the logic behind their theories, which made sense to me since I had taken archeology classes.
I would recommend this book to anyone trying to understand the topic from a different perspective, although it might not really be possible to get to the truth, because of the way or scientific system is set up, I believe any reasonable person can see that not all of the situations covered by the authors can simple be written off as coincidences. I actually used the book to write an essay for one of my archeology classes and got an -A- since I guess some of the topics covered could not be disproven. Overall if you have an open mind and are willing to put in the time this is a great book to read.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Amazing book for the Open Minded 12 novembre 2015

I found it to be a really interesting read. Within what has been found along with his theories, he does a good job giving the information that scientist on the other side of man's history have to offer. He can kind of get a little drawn out on the information, but is definitely a book worth reading.
5.0 étoiles sur 5 Access to original reports 20 juin 2017

Although I have only read a sample and the first chapter of this book so far, I deeply appreciate the HUGE amount of work the authors have done. Not only have they pulled together primary and secondary reports from the earliest days of geology and paleontology, works that most of us would never have access to, they also quote extensively from these sources so we can "hear" what the early geologists and paleontologists had to say about their fossil finds, the circumstances under which they were found, and the geology of the strata in which they were found. The authors lay out not only reports on the original finds but also subsequent reports supporting or not supporting the conclusions drawn from these finds. I've been wanting to read the original reports (rather than condensed and heavily edited versions) for quite some time and didn't know how to find them. I for one thank the authors for doing this for me.
