Early on in my life, there were people who made me feel like my best wasn't good enough. Perhaps that is what shaped my view of myself. I know for a fact though that I am my own worst critic. There have been times when I have looked back in my past and still looked down on myself for something I did or said. This book has been a great help to me, to forgive myself and move forward in my life. If self forgiveness is something that you struggle with, I would highly recommend this book to you.

Kathie Thompson "Forgive Yourself: How to Break free From Your Past and Move Forward" is a great book with logical, workable, understandable answers. Many people think that they have forgiven somebody or that they can't forgive somebody, but this book will open up your eyes to see what true forgiveness is and how to set about doing it. This book clearly shows that Katie is educated in the subject she will give you a deeper understanding that will set you free. This book is not a quick read through, it requires thoughtful meditation. One of my favorite sections of this book was when she went over the different explanation of most peoples definition of forgiveness. Many of the things she went over about forgiveness was a real eye-opener for me. Such thing as denial, pardoning, excusing, condoning, forgetting, and reconciliation. She very clearly explains the process of forgiveness. At the end of each chapter she cleverly shows the different in your life of symptoms that will decrease as you work through these problems using your new understanding.
Some of the ways that she brings about healing I have used in inner healing and deliverance. I was very impressed with her knowledge of the subject.
I also enjoyed reading the chapter about words and the important in the power of words. In conclusion I recommend this book to be in everyone's library it is a book that you will find yourself going back to and using methods to set yourself free. This book is a secular book as well as a Christian book both groups of people would benefit from this book, and will be able to move on in their lives.

Like the books description says, "...forgiveness is tough but self forgiveness is even harder..." This book does a great job of helping you to clarify the underlying issues to your inability to forgive yourself and others along with practical suggestions on what you can do to relieve yourself of the toxic burden of carrying it. As someone who has struggled with forgiveness of those around him and of himself from time-to-time I feel this book can act as an indispensable guide on how to approach forgiveness. If you've been trying to forgive or know someone that needs to, I would definitely recommend you read this book.

Holding resentment and anger towards another person has always been something I struggled with. Whether it's been ex-boyfriends, siblings, cousins, co-workers I've always felt the need to hold that feeling of bitterness deep inside of me. I felt if I were to break free from that anger I would lose myself. My identity has grown into these fits of bitterness and being upset but after reading this book, I realize I'm in bondage and need to set it free. I'm working on fixing and repairing my relationships and letting myself forgive others and myself. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs to forgive themselves and/or others! There's so much power in forgiveness!

I got this book because I have always struggled with forgiving people for the wrong they've done. I got a lot out of reading this, especially the section on relationships and how they can improve all around when you an let go of the past and move forward. Some people just don't know how to say or how to be sorry and you have to let them go and let their harm to you go.

This is a powerful book, I recommend it.
