De la place en quantité que ce soit pour un épais ventirad, carte graphique, stockage ou alimentation !

Un très bon boîtier épuré. Les ventilateurs sont assez silencieux, on entendra un léger souffle. À noter que ce sont des ventilateurs DC et non PWM.

A la réception :
- Colis parfaitement emballé, bien protégé.

A l'ouverture :
- La tour est massive, imposante, sobre et plutôt classe.
- Les finitions extérieures (matériaux, peinture), idem c'est vraiment top.

Au montage :
- C'est la 2ème tour que je monte (pour être plus précis j'ai conservé mes composants de mon ancienne tour pour les mettre dans celle là). J'ai voulu prendre mon temps (j'ai mis 3 heures environ), pour tout démonter sur l'ancienne tour, remonter vers la nouvelle, passer les câbles proprement... La notice est courte mais claire, explique bien toutes les étapes.
- Au niveau de la visserie il y a ce qu'il faut (même trop !), par contre je trouve que les grosses vis qui se mettent à l'arrière ne sont pas très pratiques à visser / dévisser (celle qui se vissent à la main). (je m'y suis peut-être mal pris).
- Il y a VRAIMENT TOUT CE QU'IL FAUT en terme d'astuces (fixer le SSD à l'arrière de la carte mère par exemple), et surtout au niveau du passage des câbles c'est le pied : des trappes partout, ce qui permet d'avoir peu de câbles visibles et donc un flux d'air optimisé.
- Les ventilateurs livrés font bien leur boulot et sont très silencieux.
- La connectique en façade (le son + 2 ports usb 2.0 + 2 ports usb 3.0) est très pratique.
- Le panneau en façade se referme et il y a des aérations sur les côtés pour faire passer l'air.
- L'insonorisation de la tour, grâce à ses panneaux en mousses, fonctionne vraiment bien.

Le seul point négatif est qu'il aurait été appréciable d'avoir deux led en façade plutôt qu'une (led d'alimentation et led d'activité.

Sinon bravo AMAZON, qui suite à un quiproquo sur une erreur de référence (de mon fait) a fait le nécessaire pour reprendre la mauvaise tour, me rembourser dans la foulée et m'envoyer cette tour. Tout ça en 2 jours, respect :)

Les points positifs de ce boîtier :

* Sobre, ce qui intéressant quand on n'a pas envie de se faire un PC de jeu de kéké
* Silencieux. Même en réglant les ventilateurs à fond, ce n'est pas très bruyant. En les réglant au minimum, on ne les entend pas. Ça change de mon boîtier précédent.
* Équipé de filtres qui semblent efficaces
* Beaucoup (trop ? l'avantage c'est que d'après la notice, on peut les enlever, mais je n'ai pas essayé) d'emplacements pour les disques 3,5", 2 emplacements pour des disques 2,5". Par ailleurs, le système de fixation à base de racks pour les disque 3,5" est pratique.

Les points négatifs :

* Les filtages / vis et le système d'ouverture pour les panneaux latéraux sont nuls. Les vis et filtages d'abord : je sens une forte résistance quand j'essaie de visser alors que les trous sont bien alignés. Je ne force pas pour ne pas foirer le filtage, mais du coup je ne peux pas visser jusqu'au bout. Le système d'ouverture quant à lui est constitué de 2 loquets qui viennent s’enchâsser dans le panneau latéral. C'est bien, sauf que le métal du panneau latéral n'est pas très épais et il peut très facilement se tordre sous l'action de ces loquets si on ne fait pas attention.
* Les ports USB en façade ont un problème, ils sont beaucoup trop résistants : on a l'impression qu'on va soit abîmer la fiche USB, soit casser sa clé USB quand on essaie de la débrancher (et ça pourrait très certainement arriver)
* Ce n'est pas terrible que la LED d'activité du disque soit au même endroit, et de la même couleur que la LED power.

Au final, je ne regrette pas mon achat mais ces petits défauts font que je ne pense pas que ce boîtier mérite 5 étoiles, surtout qu'il est assez cher pour qu'on puisse attendre un peu mieux.

Materiel de grande qualité et très bien conçu. Je l'utilise comme media center, j'ai donc plusieurs disques durs de grande capacité à y installer.
Auparavant, j'avais un boîtier Antec, mais il a mal vieilli et il était beaucoup beaucoup plus bruyant.
Là, c'est le top, montage facile, et surtout très bonne conception pour optimiser la place. De plus, contrairement au modèle Fractal R6, les disques ne sont pas en porte-à-faux (fixés sur 3 côtes seulement dans le R6) donc plus stables. C'est important pour de grosses capacités très lourds.
Je recommande donc ce produit, mais il reste un peu cher. Pour le prix, la marque aurait pu fournir le second ventilateur de façade. Il est un peu honteux de n'en n'avoir mis qu'un.

I wanted a new case that could accommodate my tall CPU fan and a DVD writer. And a front panel so I could hide my light grey DVD because it looks ugly.

This R5 can takes CPU fans up to 180mm. Check.
Has 2 front slots for CD/DVD. Check.
Has a full length front door. Check.

It's quite hefty compared to my previous 10 year old CoolerMaster aluminium case. It's very well made and solid.

I followed the manual and installed PSU then motherboard etc.

Don't do that. Route all your cables first otherwise feeding cables through the various portals is difficult with the PSU+mobo installed. My PSU cables (detachable) were long enough that I could route them out one portal, underneath the motherboard (outside of case), into the other portal ready for motherboard placement.

You get a load of black anodized screws in multiple bags - far more than you need. PCB risers plus a nifty white plastic stub tool with a Philips screwdriver head for getting them in.

Loved the fact I could screw 2 of my SSDs to the white square metal plates on the side of the case.

Far more internal drive bays than I need. One block of 3 and another of 5. Both removable. I removed the 5 and put the 3 (top) to the bottom to leave the front fan unobstructed.

Comes with 2 white fans pre-installed. Max RPM seems to be about 900 and good enough for my set up. The top of the case has 3 removable panels allowing more fans to be fitted. The front can take another fan, as can the side panel and the bottom. Radiators can also be fitted for the water cooler users.

I fitted a Noctua NH-D15S CPU cooler to this no problem. That comes with 1 fan but I took off the fan from my previous cooler and added it as well.

The top front has a nice big power button with blue LED, a reset button, 2 USB2 + 2 USB3, headphone and mic sockets. Cables already attached to the case to plug those things into standard motherboard pin blocks. Nice.

The removable side panels are quite thick and covered with sound insulation.

One word of caution - the rear has 4 thumb screws - 2 each side for each left/right panel. Those screws are slightly different on each side, so do not mix them up otherwise getting them back in leaves you confounded and swearing.

And that, my friends, is the only gripe I can find.

It's a rock solid well crafted high quality case with enough expansion potential to please the majority. It's 95% metal making it a good heat transfer system. The front door is a nice shiny black plastic (about 1cm thick) and is reversible.

It looks elegant and is almost silent. Very pleased with this case.

Very Good price and Performance if set up correctly

Intro

This Case was an upgrade/ downsize from a very reliable full tower case the HAF X. I had the HAF X for around five years, and it was time to retire the old beast and get something a little smaller, flat friendly and eye pleasing.
Growing older I have steered away from getting the window panel and decided to get the all black quite edition. Window panels usually get scratches from moving or even cleaning, plus the case is on the floor where no one will be able to see it. The case its self is very solid, no too heavy but definitely not light. The case is a lot wider than I thought it was going to be, even looking at videos I was a little shocked but nice surprise as you will be able to fit a Noctua D14/15 in there.

"I'm in the middle of a upgrade so if you see any parts that look out of place in the picture they are most likely going to be replaced"

Sound

The case has a sound reducing mat on the top and sides to stop sounds this keeps things quite but adds more heat to your case. If you want a little more airflow in your case, you can remove the top and side fan covers and install fans. This will make your computer a louder, but if you choose the right fans and set them up correctly, you should be able to keep the case very quiet.There is also a fan controller too which you can fit 3, three pin fans and set them to 3 different settings. If you want to add more fans to this, I would recommend getting fan splitters.
I would like to say that having the side fan setup adds a loud whistling noise if its sucking air in unless you set the fan speed to 40%-50% and blowing air out is almost pointless for heat distribution and still add slight whistling noise. If you want to add more air into the case, I would recommend adding in a fan at the bottom sucking air in as it is less noisy. I set up the fan speeds in the bios so that it is whisper quiet when using it normally and add in more air when you’re doing your hardcore rendering.

Fans
Technically you can fit two 140mm fans on the front, a 140mm /120 mm fan in the back. 140mm /120 mm on the side, three 140mm /120 mm in the top and three more in the bottom. To be able to fit three fans on the top, you will have to sacrifice your optical bays.
Personally, I would think about replacing the fans that it comes with. There not loud but compared to others out there they could be better. Not too much of an issue for me as I had fans laying everywhere around but I would have also like to see two fans in the front installed not 1. Plus, the fans are very weak and can break very easily. This happened to me when a fan cable wasn’t tied back properly and got caught.
As for the fan speed controller, I like it a lot as it suits my needs. Now I know this will sound strange as I’ve been talking about setting fans up in bios but I’ve set up my CPU fans and the front two fans, so when I need more air in my case, quickly I can do so keeping everything cool. Saying that even at low to mid speed I can have enough air in my case to keep everything cool and quiet. It more for those really hot days.

Size and Hard drives

You can fit in all kinds of motherboards from itx all the way to extended atx motherboards. For graphic cards I just able to fit in my Asus 980ti Strix, which if you don’t know it is a HUGE card, but I was able to do so without taking out any Hard Drive Bays as for the HDD bays. The HDD is where the case lets its self down. You have to install four rubber grommets to stop any vibration of your HDD, and they are made out of metal so the ones that are not in use sometimes you will be able to hear them vibrating. Personally, I would have liked to see them made out of plastic and them to be tool-less also

Conclusion
There is not much more I can say about this case. It is a fantastic quiet case perfect for someone who is taking the setup from budget cases but still doesn't want to spend over £100.

Very easy and tidy build

I used this case for a new build replacing my existing desktop PC which I built around 8 years ago. The new build is based around a Ryzen7 CPU. I switched from HDDs to SSDs and used a modular PSU. The result is a cool and very neat build. As well as plenty of bays for HDDs, SSDs and optical drives etc within the main body of the case there are also additional mount points behind the MB for 2 SSD drives. There are concealed cable exit points alongside the MB mounts which allow all cables to routed out of sight behind the MB and drive bays. Along with a modular PSU this enabled me to achieve a very neat build. Consequently, airflow through the case is excellent and I found that the 2 (very quiet) included fans are perfectly adequate for my unclocked CPU. This case is fairly big and in particular seems quite wide (across the front) at 23cm but the benefit is the tidy cable runs and the good ventilation. Build quality is excellent, it looks quite understated in matt black and dark grey satin effect front panel. The 2 USB2, 2 USB3 and headphone ports on the top of the front panel (there are more on the back panel) are very convenient.
There is an easy to remove (clean) dust grille accessible by opening the hinged front panel. Some reviewers mentioned that their case arrived damaged but my case arrived in a pristine condition well packaged in polystyrene and a stout cardboard box.
All in, there are really no negatives I can see with this case, hence my 5*

Needed a case to house my many hard drives for a plex machine and this is the one! Stuck an extra fan in because I could and have 11 hard drives in it with room for another one or 2 possibly more if I am creative. Cable management is not as easy as the nzxt case so good job there is no glass panel but that's to be expected given the connectivity and amount of cables you will have using the case for what it was designed for. This case being older also features 2x spaces for internal disc drives unlike a lot of the newer cases so thats a bonus if like me you still play discs.

This is one of the best cases I've seen in a long time. What attracted me to it were the shear amount of options available, the thought that has gone into this is second to none.
Options for drive cages: There are two HDD cages one 5 bay and one 3 bay - that's a lot of drives if you need them but the brilliance of the design is that these cages can be relocated or removed. The 5 bay may be removed completely leaving the 3 bay which can be located in 3 different positions. The optical 2 bay can also be completely removed for those that don't see a need for optical drives.
There are 2 SSD mounting points the rear of the motherboard so no need to consider this as one of your HDD slots if you are using only the 3 bay enclosure.

All this leaves several options for water coolers for instance. You can use the back, top or front for a water cooler - top and front will accept a double. The top mounting will accept extra long coolers if the optical drive bay is removed. All this is astounding for a midi-case, you are limited by your imagination on what and where you located your hardware - there's probably no other midi case that displays this kind of flexibility.

As a low profile case it is gorgeous to look at with a reversible front door and sleek design. It's built beautifully and designed for silent operation and in this respect you have a choice of a windowed and non-windowed version. On the top are 3 panels which Fractal Design call moduvents, Each of these panels can be removed to allow a fan or water cooler to vent through the top. Kept on the case is clearly designed for silent operation as these panels along with the side panels have a decent amount of sound proof padding added to them.

However, one of my dislikes regarding the so called Moduvents are the clips that hold it in place. They are really difficult to remove without breaking and it's not clear by the pictogram manual how one is supposed to remove them easily. This therefore could be something that they could improve.

It comes with 2 140mm fans (one front intake and one at the back). Space for 2 at the front and optionally one could be attached to the bottom and side panel, giving a great deal of flexibility on case cooling options. They have also included a fan step down switch on the front although I expect most motherboards are now pretty capable of controlling PWM / DC fans that this is kind of redundant.

Good quality screws and rubber grommets for sound proofing are supplied in an easy to understand pack with flex ties, extra fan screws and even a standoff assembly/removal tool.

The Good:
* Sturdy well thought out design
* Quality parts and build
* Looks great
* Silent if need be
* Loads of options / configurations

The bad:
* Moduvent system is very hard to remove
* It's a pretty heavy case - once housing all the bits this will be seriously weighty.
* Would have been nice to have had the 3rd fan included for the front
* Fans are dead quiet but although rated at 1000rpm only seem to turn around 890rpm - they don't move a great deal of air so depending on
your needs you may need to look to better case fans.
* Standoff tool breaks easily (nit picking now)

For the negatives I couldn't warranty dropping even one star - half a star would be about it and so it's a 9/10 really.
It's such a good case which has all the flexibility to build a great gaming rig or a docile office pc if that's what you want and it looks so neat. What more can you want?
