Description du produit
With its witty dialogue, sophisticated character development, and classic slapstick situations, Frasier is a prime example of television comedy at its finest. Centred around pompous psychiatrist Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) and his call-in radio show in Seattle, the series' brilliant ensemble cast includes his prim and proper brother Niles (David Hyde Pierce), their gruff retired-cop father Martin (John Mahoney), live-in home care assistant Daphne (Jane Leeves), brassy radio producer Roz (Teri Gilpin), and a charismatic Jack Russell terrier named Eddie. This collection includes all 24 episodes of the award-winning fifth series, which features guest appearances by Bebe Neuwirth, Marsha Mason, and Patty Lupone.
Frasier's fifth season is marked by two central themes. First is Roz's (Peri Gilpin) unexpected pregnancy, which naturally opens the door for countless promiscuity jokes for the radio show's beleaguered producer. The second is the continuing drama of Niles (David Hyde Pierce) and his frosty wife, Maris, which seemed to finally come to a head. Not that even a good marriage has ever kept Niles from pining for Daphne (Jane Leeves), of course. Frasier's (Kelsey Grammer) show is sailing along, and for the occasion of his 1000th show, is honoured by the mayor for "Frasier Crane Day," which allows the cast to do some rare location shooting in Seattle. But he has some problems with KACL management, and the prospect of tough contract negotiations tempts him to return to the Dark Side, in the form of agent Bebe (Harriet Sansom Harris). His personal life continues to sputter, even when he meets a perfect woman (Sela Ward as a fashion model studying zoology, Lindsay Frost as a high-powered defense attorney). The annual guest appearance by ex-wife Lilith (Bebe Neuwirth) comes with a bizarre twist, and his father (John Mahoney) comes to a critical point with his girlfriend (Marsha Mason). Frasier won its fifth consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, Grammer and Pierce won their third and second statuettes, respectively, and Patti Lupone was nominated for her guest appearance as Frasier's vengeful Greek aunt. --David Horiuchi

I would always find myself frustrated at Daphne being so unaware of it and at Niles for never growing a pair and confessing his feelings to her. Come On!!! Just get it on already Niles! lmao. I like the silly stuffy banter between Niles and Frasier. I love their dad Marty and his old chair and who doesn't love his dog Eddie!! I find myself laughing out loud at the goofy situations they all get in to especially Frasier. I'm the biggest corniest Television nerd and I hope you enjoy these fluffy nonsense shows. I feel they help to calm the mind and provide a feeling of normalcy, and a sense that everything will be ok, even when at times it isn't. Hope you enjoyed my informal, casual, grammatically incorrect review of Frasier.
Your Corny Television Nerd
By the way if you like dogs you will love "Eddie", one of the main but unpredictable actors in the show. Just for note: There were really two "Eddie" dogs in the show, the older dog which played on the first 1/2 of the series and then his pup, that played the second 1/2 of the series
As much as I love Frasier, Season Five was not my favorite of the series. It is still excellent, and far superior to other comedies. I just thought the other seasons were even better! The very first episode, "Frasier's Imaginary Friend" was extremely well done and may be the best episode of the season.
We have every season on DVD and every single disc has worked perfectly. Never a single issue with these DVDs.
