Biographie de l'auteur
Woodrow Barfield, PhD, JD, LLM, has served as professor of engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, where he received the National Science Foundation Presidential Young Investigator Award. Professor Barfield directed the Sensory Engineering Laboratory, where he was involved in research on sensors and augmented and virtual reality displays. He has served as a senior editor for Presence: Teleoperators and Virtual Environments and is an associate editor for Virtual Reality. He has more than 350 publications and presentations, including invited lectures and keynote talks, and holds two degrees in law.

Given the reception of the 2 games, you might want to read the book to glean advice. Both for the use of custom wearable machines, which is the main thrust of the text, or for having the AR apps ride on generic cellphones. The temptation has been to favour custom hardware. Most specifically, custom future hardware. An emphasis because well if you can imagine the future, you can postulate wonderful new possibilities. Maybe that will also be the inspiration you get from the book. But at least consider if you can make an AR app that runs on one or both of Android and Apple phones. The installed base of hardware is now over 100 million phones in the US alone. Multiples of that globally.
If so, your users do not have to buy new hardware. Whereas all postulates of custom devices run into the reality that deployment is shall we say minimal.
