5.0 étoiles sur 5 Really Enjoying This Series, But...Maybe an Editor? 16 décembre 2012

I've read each of the books in this series and enjoyed them quite a bit. I love the recurring character of Stefan and each of the heroine's individual abilities. I'll happily buy the next book in the series.

That said, I think perhaps a little more time with an editor or some beta readers is called for. In Book 3, her heroine claims that the Oregon coast where she lives is only 15 minutes from Portland (actually a minimum of 1-1/2 hours) and sits between that city and Salem. In this book it appears there's some confusion between Scottish and Irish dialects. One of her main characters is continually described as an Irishman, but has a Scottish dialect. She also calls the city Seattle instead of Portland at one point.

Not too terrible, but glitches like these can be distracting when they add up.

Alexis Gordon is gifted, but she doesn't really know it. She just sees it as a 'green thumb' and loves to work with plants. When a slip in the mud sends her tumbling into a construction pit, she discovers the grave of a murdered child. This book definitely starts with quite a bang. A bang that wakes Alexis up to a whole new world of abilities.

But this grave may be just the beginning. When Detective Kevin Sutherland takes the case to the famous (to readers of the series) Stefan Kronos, things get really interesting. An ability no one has seen before is in play. And it doesn't want to play fair. The identity behind this strange ability remains a mystery until the very end - which I really enjoyed. It kept suspense and danger levels high and made it really hard to put the book down. In the end, I was quite on the edge of my seat.

There were a few points the story hit an unexpected dragging point, and it seemed like the romance aspects didn't always flow as well as the suspense aspects. Don't get me wrong, Alexis and Kevin make a great couple. But many of their more personal moments seemed to interrupt the suspense instead of helping to build it. I never understood the point of driving out of town to the other house all the time (you'll understand when you get there).

A good addition to the series. I'd like to see a few less totally out there abilities and just a creative use of 'normal' psychic abilities or the series may end up being just a little too crazy for my taste.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Enjoyable mystery, hot detective, and appreciated psychics not being vilified by the police. 4 août 2015

Again, I am enjoying the Psychic Visions books. Good suspense, good twists, really, REALLY interesting psychic information stuff, Stefan, Alexis and Kevin and Scott are finely developed characters. I liked the linking from book to book, too, mentioning personalities from previous books. Stefan seems to be the conduit between them, and I am enjoy his growth and his character becoming more complex. Some nice sexual tension that is downright believable and the romance scenes are appropriate without being ridiculously specific. As always, the mystery story and wanting to know what will happen to the characters keeps me reading into the night. Nicely done.

A small comment: a bit better proofreading next time around, please. Maybe some confusion between Seattle and Portland? A few He/His type errors. I know it seems picky, but these surprised me with Ms. Mayer. I do not remember noticing this in her previous books.

Thrilled to finally have found an author who writes about these subjects that are so close to my heart, I am a psychic-medium, and finding books of this caliber are few and far between. Thankyou Dale Mayer!!! That Stefan Kronos, is my idol is like icing on my cake...this us my fourth book. Each one is bett er than the previous one. I'm wondering if Ms. Mayer knows Stefan personally. If she does, how awesome is that...I plan to read everything she's written, and becoming a avid fan. The writing flows, the stories engaging, hard to put down....each book gets better than the last. Can't wait to read the next book!!!

This is the 4th in the series and offered a different spin on psychic energy that transcends the mortal plane. Alexis & Kevin make a compelling couple and I'm always excited to catch a glimpse of Stefan (please tell me he has his own book eventually!) Alexis & Kevin are both psychic, which was a nice change that allowed Kevin to help guide Alexis as she learns who she really is. There are some minor grammatical errors that don't cause too much disruption in the story. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is because the love scenes seem to be flat to me. They are sweet, but forgettable and I could honestly do without them, except that they do belong in the story line.

I received Dale Mayer's second book in this Psychic series as a freebie and was totally hooked. I have now read all 4 books in the series. I highly recommend this series for a little different twist on romantic intrigue. The characters are well deveoloped and the books stand alone, even though they are clearly part of a series. Though the second book in the series remains my favorite - I have a soft spot for Kai & Shiloh - I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I'm extremely impatient to see the next book in this series. Dale Mayer is now on a VERY small must-have list that includes JD Robb and Laurell K. Hamilton.
