Now, as for the book - what can I say? It was written years ago, and when discussing international matters, you need to stay UP-TO-DATE. I cannot stress this enough. However, the book contains all the technicals and terms that you will need to learn, and serves as fantastic "bringing you up to speed" material. What I mean is this: Don't expect to learn what the IMF and World Bank are doing TODAY through this book, but by learning what the IMF and World Bank did in 2004 is still important, ya dig?
