The organization of the book by seasons really goes along well with Ramsay's emphasis on using fresh, and if possible, local food. I really enjoy using this for dinner parties on the cusp of a season, like the first snow or when the leaves are turning colours. In terms of time required, I would say that this is more of a special occasion cookbook than an everyday, especially if you're planning on making more than one course. It works quite well if you're feeding 4+ people, but the time and effort required for most recipes probably isn't worth it for just a couple of people, unless you're really trying to impress someone.

A couple of these recipes are absurdly pull-out-all-the-stops, some are for fancy dinner parties, and I'd say there are a few as well that you could use most nights, especially once you've tried them a few times. As far as I know, they are all well thought out and tasty, as one would suspect, and often surprisingly so if you go the extra mile to really get all the embellishments.

This isn't so much a criticism as a reflection, but many of these recipes involve a lot of fish or food that isn't as common outside of the UK. I had trouble getting the correct ingredients for most recipes when I lived in a landlocked state. Now that I live on the coast this cookbook is much easier to use.
