It covers all the technical aspects of olive growing from pruning to picking. There are sections on fertilisers, irrigation and land management. As well the ebook covers the basics of processing the olives into oil. As well the ebook provides advice on marketing the oil, quality standards, tasting, labels, grove management and finance. The author, Brian Chatterton, has grown olives for more than 20 years in the hill country of Umbria in central Italy. Previously he grew grapes and made wine in the Barossa valley of South Australia.
"Growing olives for quality oil" is a condensed version of an earlier ebook written by Brian Chatterton called "Growing olives and producing oil." This ebook, published in 2005, has been reviewed in the Australian and New Zealand Olivegrower magazine, The Mediterranean Garden, and other publications.
