Description du produit

Présentation de l'éditeur

Forearm exercises and hand strength training for building a strong grip are important components of a complete workout which are often overlooked.

However, there are great benefits for people who take the time to train their hands and make them stronger. Think about it—whether you're playing a sport, working out in the gym, or just fulfilling your day-to-day responsbilities, your hands are what you use to interact with almost everything around you.

You can have all the upper body strength in the world, but if your hands and forearms aren't strong enough to deliver that strength to the baseball bat, tennis racket, hockey stick, barbell, or whatever else you're trying to move, it's not worth very much.

Strong and healthy hands are also just a wonderful asset to have in your daily life. You'll never stop needing your hands, and taking the time to keep them in great shape is a very smart long-term investment in your body.

Hand And Forearm Exercises teaches you a full set of hand strengthening exercises, complete with pictures and detailed descriptions to ensure proper form. These are interesting and effective exercise which are also quite convenient—most require either common household objects or no equipment at all.

If your interested in getting to the next level of hand strength for any reason—whether your trying to create an advantage in athletic competition, or just trying to keep your hands healthy and strong—this book will get you there. Pick up a physical or digital copy today, and get started.

Biographie de l'auteur

Patrick Barrett can be found on the web at BarrettBooks.com. He has been interested in exercise ever since he started to lift weights with his dad and older brothers as a kid. He participated in a half-dozen organized sports (most notably inline hockey and high school wrestling) until a neck injury during a wrestling match in his junior year prevented him from playing further in any contact sports. After the injury, he developed an interest in pursuing strength and balance. He began training heavily in bodyweight exercises, learning how to do a handstand and a one arm pull up, among other skills. Patrick has always loved both cooking and eating food. Unsatisfied with the confusing and often contradictory nutritional advice offered by mainstream sources, Patrick searched for another way to understand human nutrition that was logical, consistent, and effective. His books on food and nutrition reflect this 'cleaner,' more intuitive and useful understanding of food and how it impacts our health. Patrick hopes that his books will save his audience time and aggravation by finally offering practical ways to achieve their nutrition and fitness goals.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 What a surprise - Great Book! 23 septembre 2012
Par Neal Adams - Publié sur Amazon.com

I just finished reading (and then practicing some of the suggested exercises) Patrick Barrett's Hand and Forearm exercises. I have to agree with the previous reviewer - I was skeptical about the usefulness of the subject matter and really thought I had no problems with hand strength or my manual dexterity as a result.

Instead, I found that Patrick provided some compelling reasons for and examples of hand/forearm strength being VERY important. (I thought of a few others even...) As a result, I decided to implement some of his exercises right now. Boy - was I surprised! My fingers, wrists and forearms were really feeling the burn after just the first 3 exercises. A little later I tried some of the others and realized that this is really something I need to work on. The book was really short and to the point - considering that I don't have a lot of time, I appreciate that alot.

I think Patrick's hit upon a subject and a exercise style that really speaks to me - a regular person with a regular (rather sedentary) job and has given me some good tools to improve my hand and forearm strenth. I also think that he provides accessible methods and tools that allow someone like me to start improving myself immediately. You should read this too.
5.0 étoiles sur 5 Got A Few New Ideas For My Money 10 mars 2017
Par William J. Fallon - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Broché Achat vérifié
I enjoyed reading thru this. First note it's more a pamphlet than a book, tho it is bound like a book, so don't expect a volume. He does present some interesting ideas, some I hadn't seen and things you can do at home, like a towel roll. Many require some sort of "equipment", e.g. a sledge hammer, but you can improvise. Even a heavy rod will do the trick. I was pleased to see he doesn't waste space on the exercises we all know, like wrists rollers with dumbbells. At one point he does have you creating a block weight by taking a hacksaw to a hex dumbbell. One can also use a hex dumbbell in a gym and accomplish the same thing by grasping the end of the dumbbell and by tieing on some of those little 2 and 3 pound dumbbells the women use to give you weights in between what your gym has. Anyway if you are a real exercise fan this is well worth the $7.50 or whatever it was to get a few new angles on exercises.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great Information for Those Who Want to Increase Hand and Forearm Strength 25 décembre 2013
Par J. Robideau - Publié sur Amazon.com

Many people know that they need to increase the strength in their hands and forearms, but they don't know how. Do you need to lift tiny dumbbells with your fingers? Even those that know about some of the tools that are available, fail to use them properly and after some time give up because they don't see the results that they were hoping for. This book will help you in that area.

Patrick outlines specific programs with various exercises and specific rep counts for you to build strength. There are numerous illustrations throughout for you to use to make sure that you are doing the exercises properly.

Highly recommended!

Thank you for making this book available for the free giveaway!
4.0 étoiles sur 5 Good for the price -- seems like a good guy 21 juin 2017

He never said he's a professional physical therapist or scientist (like Jim Johnson is) and his writing style is plain conversational English. It's self-published rather unsophisticated format and photos. Reading, it, you come to really like him, and appreciate that he's sincere and helpful. He is right. We really should be exercising our hands more!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Really? A Workout for your hands .... It really works ... 23 août 2012
Par Cara Weddington - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle Achat vérifié
I was a little skeptical at first about a book centered on strengthening your hand and forearm .... but I am so happy I read this great book. I work a lot on the computer and noticed over the past few years losing strength in my hands and arms. This book is perfect to address the issues of strengthening a key part of our body that does so much and so essential to daily living. The author offers greats exercises and stretching techniques that I can use in my busy life including pictures to show you exactly how to do the exercises. He also recommends inexpensive equipment to use in order to really get a good workout routine that won't `break the bank'. I really like this book and will be recommending it to my friends. Several of the exercise I have tried are already helping in strengthening my hands and arms. Thanks Patrick!
