Sound is great, no complaints here. I dont use a great deal of delay, but when I do I mostly use the analog and slapback settings. They sound great. The digital section goes up to 8 seconds of delay, not sure why this would ever be necessary, but it works well. The looper is pretty usable and fun to play with, however it is limited as you obviously cant save loops or even restart them after you stop them. I really dont need the looper as I have a dedicated looper on my board, a Digitech Jamman Stereo.
I am pretty cheap and will save money any way I can. With pedals, I can get away with cheap Joyo overdrives and dirt pedals as they sound nearly as good as their much more expensive competition. But when it comes to a delay pedal, there is a big difference. You really get what you pay for. This pedal was worth every penny and I do believe it will last a lifetime. Would buy again.
So the looping aspect of the pedal is really fun too. There are 2 inputs so you can technically record 2 instruments simultaneously. But I haven't done that yet. I have connected a Roland SPD20 drum pad to it and it loops that too, which is awesome because now you can turn a drum pad into a drum machine. It can also loop a keyboard and anything else with a 1/4" cable. Yes, vocals too! I connected a cheap mic I have and was having some psychedelic fun with my kids.
All in all, this is an extremely well-built and high quality, machined product. I'm a rhythm guitar player and this thing makes me sound like the Edge. Don't bother using a battery though, because it will only last about an hour. You will need to plug it into AC.
The ONLY downside to the pedal is that you cannot use the delay effects with the looping function. You can, however, plug any other effects pedals into it and use those. So if you have another echo/effects pedal, you can loop it just the same.
I'm sure there are better pedals for delay and better pedals for looping, but I don't know if there is a sweeter combo for the price.
Looper is that there is more time to make the loop on the Boss than this one. But if you're just now starting I'm trying to create some different sounds this is wonderful! like I said, thank you to the seller that sold this to me, he did a great job, timely especially the packing of the unit was superb thank you very much! And get creative!
versatile and sounds great. does what i want it to and does it well.
the ONLY reason not to like this is because you are a snob and it doesnt have the boutique factor.
dont be a weiner.
