Présentation de l'éditeur

Disasters and calamities have left a bloodstain on the history of America, frequently causing ghosts and hauntings to follow in their wake. In this first book of its kind, authors Troy Taylor and Rene Kruse present a blood-curdling account of death and horror like nothing you have ever read before! Arranged by the often devastating elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water, they have collected stories of floods, hurricanes, epidemics, mine disasters, earthquakes, fires, explosions, shipwrecks, blizzards, train collisions, aircraft crashes, tornadoes – all linked to a history of ghosts and the supernatural. See how these terrible events in our country's past have given birth to tales of eerie contact with the other side!

Discover the history and hauntings of the New Madrid Earthquake, Fort Dearborn Massacre, Ashtabula Bridge Disaster, Pennsylvania Mine Fires, Wellington Avalanche, Hammond Circus Train Wreck, Galveston Hurricane, 1918 Spanish Influenza Epidemic, Hemingway’s Hurricane, Hindenburg Crash, Donora Death Fog, Ghosts of Flight 401, Great Chicago Fire, Collinwood School Fire, Triangle Factory Fire, Cocoanut Grove, Hartford Circus Fire, Our Lady of Angels, Johnstown Flood, Sinking of the General Slocum, Titanic and much more...

Some of them you have never heard before and some may be a little too close to home. Many will frighten you, others will disturb you and some of them will have you looking over your shoulder as you read. Be warned --- They are not tales for the faint of heart!

Excellent, well-written history of some of the more well-known and lesser known American disasters. Contains information not found in some other volumes. Many photos. Does not contain much of the paranormal if that is what you are looking for. Does show how the rich and powerful can get away with murder - heartbreaking. Totally recommended. Beware - you may never go to another theater or nightclub again. Or wish that government would do more to protect us.

but I expected better from Mr. Taylor, and this just didn't have the zing I expect to find in something he has written.

Troy Taylor, in "And Hell Followed With It" explores different American disasters that have helped shape our country. Using the four elements-earth, wind, fire, and water- Taylor explores such disasters as the Titanic sinking, the New London school explosion, the Johnstown Flood, the Collingswood School Fire, and the fire and sinking of the General Slocum. Taylor provides a wide variety of disasters to read about. However, in true Taylor fashion, he also includes connections to the paranormal activity that may be connected to these events as well.

Being a Macon County native and a Millikin University graduate, I have been reading Troy Taylor's books since the first "Haunted Decatur" came out in the mid 1990s. Although some of Taylor's books seem to have a repetitive quality to them, the book "And Hell Followed With It" was an awesome change from his typical "Haunted" books. It was very well written and contained many fantastic stories. I, for one, never knew of the New London school explosion. However, after reading about it in Troy's book, then doing research on what I had read, I am shocked that more isn't told about this moment in American history.

This book is a fantastic read, and I am glad to see that he has a sequel to this book. As a disaster buff who also loves anything paranormal, I found this book to be very worthwhile. I would encourage anyone interested in disasters to pick up this book!
