How do I download the new copy that has a TOC?

I discovered this wonderful source a couple of years ago and was eagerly awaiting their release in a print book. I have struggled with high-altitude baking since moving to Boulder, Colorado from the east coast. Every recipe has the high- altitude adjustment and the recipes are actually a higher quality then what I have found with other high-altitude cooking books. The pictures are beautiful and truly show the fine detail you would want in a baking book- for instance, you can tell the crumb of a cake by the picture.

Sadly, no print book yet. I went ahead and bought the Kindle version and downloaded on my iPad. Unfortunately, I cannot give this book 5 stars as it is a nightmare to use. It is a shame that the organization of the book is the detriment because the content is fabulous. But if you are cooking, the function of the material is just as imporatnt as the content.

I am listing the problems here in hopes that the author can read and rectify:

*Please give us a print copy!

*Pages are not indexed according to whether they are cake, cookie, etc. so you have no idea what chapter you are in or how far away you are from another chapter

*No links to a recipe you want

*Difficult to use as you can only see one page at a time so there's no flipping thru fast to find that frosting recipe. This is the worst.

*The picture of the previous recipe shows up on the current page you are cooking. Distracting.

*No way to see all you're the choices you have unless you go all the way back to the cover page which as noted above, has no link

Sign me a fan but this format needs Help!

I wanted to get into baking (since I can't cook - need the precision that baking requires) and a co-worker recommended this book to me. It's excellent. I made my first-ever cake (the fudge bundt cake from the book) and found the directions to be very well written and easy to follow, even for a absolute novice like me - the photos of the finished product helps a lot too.

Also, I live in the mid-Atlantic so it's good for people who don't live in high altitudes as well.

Author and trained chef Chris Reynolds has written a beautiful Kindle cookbook filled with numerous color images depicting the various baked goods. He has carefully laid out the cookbook so it is a delight for they eyes to read. I do wish he had put in a complete active table of contents rather than explaining how to search for a recipe in his cookbook. His cookbook is so large it truly would have been better with an active table of contents.

What I do LOVE about this cookbook is how the author has personally tested the recipes at a 5,000 plus elevation. From what I've been told, baking at high altitudes can be a bit tricky. The author does offer general baking tips on how to adapt recipes for high altitude baking while offering a large selection of recipes.

Some of the recipes you will find in his cookbook include:

His cookbook is a good value as there are numerous recipes waiting to be prepared. Four stars given due to the lack of an active table of contents.

Highly recommend with caveats given.

high plains sifter is an amazing book for those of us that love delicious, simple, and exciting recipes -- not actually living on the high plains is not a requirement.

the images, the formating for ipad, and the all around attention to detail by the author makes for an enjoyable reading -- as well as working -- use for the book

congrats on a great all around product, the only thing it needs is someone to actually prepare all this for me!

Unlike 80% of the other high altitude recipes I have tried since moving to Colorado Springs these recipes actually come out the way you want. This book is amazing and I use it every single day. I would highly recommend it to anyone up here in our rarefied air that needs some recipes pre-adjusted to the mile high club. You won't be disappointed.
