Haley locked her heart away the day Wes left for the army, it took her years to finally go out with someone other than Wes and she started seeing Tom Blake. Wes came back to Fairplay with one mission in mind to win Haley back no matter what.
Wes had some nightmares regarding the tragedy that befell him and his army brothers, Haley was able to help through them....no matter how much Haley loved Wes she just couldn't put herself in that position again of getting hurt by him which is understandable. It took some time and lot of work for Haley was able to trust Wes again.
At the end of the day, Wes and Haley was able to start something new and stronger than what they had in the past.
P.S Loved how Haley was able to get over her fear of storms in order to get herself and her nephew Ricky to safety.
Storywise, Haley and Wes are interesting characters and I like how their relationship developed, although I think there's a lot more that could have been said about his past and the PTSD he's suffering, and how hurt she was when he left. It's mentioned a few times, but there are a few instances where she's angry at him but is then kissing him - I think, given how much pain she claims she was in, she would have told him to back off, if just a bit more.
Overall, this is a bit better, plot wise, than Loving Lauren, but the way it's written and how repetitive and clichéd some dialogues are, makes me unable to give this story more than three stars, no matter how much I want to.
