I think that this album really showed that heavy music and metal is not limited to only men. Its really awesome to see women playing music that isnt soft and weak. Its really great to see women playing heavy metal. I totally reccommend this album to anyone whom is a fan of metal. This shows that metal is still alive. RIGHT ON!!!

Yes, if you thought AiC was dead, you're wrong...they've been re-incarnated in 4 beautiful women from Sweeden. The only reason I really picked up Drain's first album (and second) is because someone reccomended them for an alternative for AiC, for two reasons:
A)Drain STH members are fans of Alice. B)Their music is similar to Alice.
Indeed it is. And there is not a bad song on this album. It all starts out with the very heavy "I Don't Mind", and doesn't stop getting better...not till the album ends. These women are the queens of grunge. You must buy the album, now. It's just a sad thing that Drain never got popular in America, because they deserved it.

Yeah well hmmm....usually when there is an all girl band out there it is a novelty item released by record labels...Kittie comes to mind here, but Drain is/was the excpetion. Very talented musicians from Sweden that know how to play their instruments, not to mention better than a lot of the other bands out there. Pick this one up.

We'll start with the obvious: you probably don't know much about this band. Heck, I don't know much about them either, but I DO know how good this album is! This was a gift for my sister, along with their other album so that she could have both like I do. We're both fans, and if you give it a chance, I'm sure you will be too. I refuse to compare them to someone, but they're definitely alt-rock of the gothic variety. It's hard rock, with pervasive guitar and bass, and some excellent percussion thrown in, that's more rhythmic than thrash metal-like. Most of their music is slower tempo, which definitely has a place within the genre, as well as among music goers everywhere. They're all-girl, and the lead vocalist is decent. The lyrics aren't anything special, but again, the beats are so catchy, it hardly matters. They have a good sound, for sure. It's sad they fizzled out so fast, but I wonder how fresh they would have been come the mid-2000's anyway. I paid very little for this gem, so if you're into this sort of thing, it's a must buy, period, end of story. A 5 out of 5 score.

Both of Drain STH CD's truly show that Metal is alive and kicking. This grrls rock with heavy riffs and haunting lyrics that would make Black Sabbath proud. I have seen this band 4 times this year, met them in New Orleans, and have been blown away every time. It is a shame that the American public is taking too long to realize how good this band is. I really hope they make it big soon, because they deserve all the success they can acomplish. It is about time Heavy music makes a comeback, and it is bands like Drain STH that will bring it back alive. I highly recomend that everybody that likes Heavy music get both CD's. You won't be dissapointed. Anybody who wants to can EMail me anytime at
