5.0 étoiles sur 5 Quick, to the point, and awesome. 23 octobre 2012

I'm a lawyer, and the last case I resolved was due to a bad foreclosure. If my client possessed this book a year ago, my services might have never been required. Quick, to the point, and, to put it succinctly, awesome.

It's a short book. When the crisis of foreclosure strikes, I believe people just want answers, and they want them fast. The full-length books I've glanced at in the past go through a whole college-level intro-course into banking, finance, history, economics and a bunch of other stuff that no homeowner cares about when that first house payment is missed. Here, Grodan just gets right to the point. What do you need to know? Here it is.

From that moment when you know you're going to miss your first payment, information is here to guide you. No need to wait. Even if you suspect that you're going to run into trouble, I'd start here, get quick answers, and know what's coming as you walk in.

I know things change from time to time. As of this reading, it's October 2012, and I would most definitely recommend this book.

As someone who has worked for both a mortgage company and a "big bank," I can say that the author is speaking the truth and is on your side with respect to avoiding foreclosure. I will reiterate what he states many times: if you are behind on your mortgage, contact your lender immediately to discuss your options. A lender does not want to go through the foreclosure process any more than you do. Having said that, they will pursue foreclosure when they have no other option. Silence or avoidance from the borrower dictates as much. I have seen people stay silent and avoid contact with their lender out of fear only to ultimately face attorney's fees and other additional costs that are completely avoidable.

While this book is short, it cuts to the chase and focuses on the available options to a borrower. If you are behind, or could potentially be behind on your mortgage payments, buying or borrowing this book is one of the best investments you will make. The author is experienced and knowledgeable and spells out the pros and cons to each possible approach. You do not have to be a victim and there are many ways out of your predicament. This book will educate you so that you can use your options and resources wisely.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Finally, A Book For Distressed Homeowners That Is Not All About Short Sales and Doing 'Deals'! 16 septembre 2012

Bravo! This book is a refreshing change of pace in the publishing arena for distressed homeowners. The author offers an easy to understand explanation about the "big picture" in mortgage financing and excellent suggestions for homeowners interested in keeping their homes.

While real estate agents and foreclosure rescue scammers hammer homeowners online with their own 'deal centric" solutions, the author has a primary focus on home retention.

What a breath of fresh air!

There are excellent links to resources throughout the book. If you are a homeowner facing foreclosure and you want to keep your home, this book is for you.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 How to Avoid and Stop a Forclosure is an Excellent Book 25 octobre 2012

It's unfortunate, but many people today are faced with the challenge of having their home foreclosed on. This book is written by someone who has had years of experience in dealing with foreclosures and he knows his business. Right from the first, it is very obvious that David has written from a wealth of knowledge.

There is detailed information on how to deal with the possibility of foreclosure at every step; before it actually happens, while the foreclosure is in process, and even after it has been completed. There are excellent tips and information that will help you deal with banks and/or mortgage companies.

I especially like that David provides a means for you to check and see if the bank can really legally start these proceedings. If you are facing foreclosure, do yourself a favor and read this book. You will be glad you did.

I wish this book would have been available a few years ago when I watched people I love...people who never thought this could ever happen to them...struggle with losing everything they had built for their future to foreclosure. Because they confided in me, after reading this book, I can easily see that what was done to them was blatantly illegal and could have been stopped. None of the "experts" they turned to for help told them any of the things the author shares so generously in this book. Not only is the information neatly packed and easy to understand, the links make it actionable. The author doesn't just tell you what to do, he gives you the places to get what you need! I'm gifting this book to everyone I know who is struggling with their mortgage!
