5.0 étoiles sur 5 Best way to raise kids 16 février 2014

This book is the "Cliff Notes" version of How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk by the same authors. If you like this book and want to know more get the fuller version.

I SOOOOO wish I had had this book when I was raising my kids!!! This is the way to raise kids and greatly reduce the tug of war that so often goes on. This method helps raise kids who are compassionate, understanding of the feelings of others (because they have never been denied their feelings) considerate, respectful and able to make the right decisions.

There is no such thing as a conflict free household when raising children but this method greatly brings greater calm to dealing with children, reduces the tension, anger, rebellion and bad feelings that often ensue.

Every parent should be given a copy of this book after delivery of their child!!!!

Another GREAT book by the same authors - How to Talk so Kids Can Learn, should be required reading for every teacher but you can use it too as a parent at home to help your school age kids!
Great stuff!!!! Highly recommend this book!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 So far so good even though I need to practice 28 juin 2015

I skimmed the book but I was able to listen to the entire CD during my commute. Simple principles that I was able to start using RIGHT AWAY. I bought this book to help me express my anger/frustration with my 7 year old in a way that isn't hurtful to her self esteem. So far so good even though I need to practice.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 I especially like this one 7 août 2015

I am a fan of all of the books in this series. I especially like this one, because it is short, easy read, and comes with an audio disc that you can hear as you drive or clean the house. I still feel that it pays to read the other books, because of the sections that are barely mentioned, or need expanding upon (such as the steps before problem solving as alternative to punishment, which is similar to engaging cooperation, from the previous chapter. ) I still feel this is an excellent review, and an ideal first choice go the non readers and super busy moms, that would otherwise not get around to reading it.

This book wasn't exactly what I expected but it was informative for me. It did talk about some of the things I was wondering about.
