Du top comme tous les disques de Hine. Un son super travaillé qui ne veuillit pas, un travail de studio et une post production léché. Je ne peut pas dire que c'est son meilleur car ils sont tous de la même veine. Mon fils de 16 ans aprécie!!!!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 No Immunity for this infectious album 15 avril 2011

This is a little change up for me. My hard line musical knowledge couldn't fill a thimble. I'm not an audiophile, I don't play an instrument, and a decibel sounds too frighteningly like Algebra for me to even look up! In short I'm just a normal average guy who knows what he like if not why. Rupert Hine's Immunity is what I like.

If I had to try to sound smart, I might say something like; Immunity is an emotive, evocative sound scape which leads the listener through a whimsical and pathos infused journey replete with twists and turns, and a myriad of emotions ranging from dark to beautifully melancholy. I Promised I wouldn't put those words in my review however.

If you are a fan of the likes of Peter Gabriel, Thomas Dolby or the like, this album will be right at home on your shelf. That's right its an album! That means the whole thing is something intended to be listened to from start to finish, and that is hardly difficult as each song left me wanting to hear what was coming next. By the end I felt as though I had been through something. Its the way an album should leave you. These songs are not meant to be shuffled into an ipod. They are made to be listened to in sequence on a stereo or whatever you have that's reasonably close.

According to what I have read, Rupert Hine has been a prolific and successful producer for most of his career, with notches in his belt to the tune of Tina Turner's Private Dancer, The Fixxs reach the beach, and Howard Jones's Human Lib. Those are arguably their best albums, and I think if you hear Immunity you will be able to see Rupert Hine's masterful production value as a guiding hand in all those albums.

This album is the one in question however, and it is a must have as far as I am concerned. Though it has synthesizers in it you would be selling it short to simply call it 80s music. This album is timeless, and its creator an out of time visionary.

These are all the things I would say if I knew what I was talking about.

This album came out in the mid-80's but still holds some good lyrical content and interesting musical treatments. Probably Ruperts best album.

This was the first of a Trilogy of solo recordings by Hine on A&M in the early 80's. It is also the best. This is a newly remastered recording that sounds fantastic. Two things stand out on this one: Hine's lyricist is Jeannette Obstoj, who spins tales and visions that are sureal, full of tension, and enjoyably wierd. Hine vocals fit the songs perfectly. The soundscape Hine creates is a perfect match, layered with creatives noises and effects that provide an intense and sometimes scary experience. The record has not dated in the 20 years since release. Get this one!

Everything about this album has 1981 written all over it. Synth pop at its extreme, yet that's what was 'in' back then. Listening to it now takes some strength, but it's a classic all the same. 'Misplaced Love' is the best on this album, and is hard to find on CD - so worth getting for that song alone.
