I'm so happy with this board. It's beautiful yet functional. It looks so nice I was reluctant to use it. I was afraid it would take on the sent of onions or garlic but it doesn't! Initially it didn't sit level on my counter but it is so heavy that after a couple days it formed it's self to my old and un-level counter top and no longer rocks! This board is so sturdy I truly believe this will be the last cutting board I'll ever need!
I have had no problem with warping as I'm very carful how wet I allow the board to get. If I think it got too wet I sit it on it's edge to dry. I use butcher block oil from a popular home DIY depot store, which is less expensive than the BOOS brand, to keep the board conditioned. I clean with a moderately wet, soapy dish cloth then immediately rinse with a damp, no soap, dish cloth. I do not use this board for cutting raw or cooked meat although I guess you can if you wash the board with a bleach solution. Be aware that some of the boards natural color and tannins will leach onto your dish cloth when cleaning. This is normal and you may want to consider using an old cloth or a devoted dish cloth for cleaning.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Perfect except for the glue that holds it together :( 20 avril 2016

I received this as a wedding present and I love everything about this cutting board except the glue that holds it all together. At both ends of the board, the glue has come undone so it looks like approximately 2" along both ends have separated (picture). Not sure why this is happening since I oil it, keep it dry, don't use a dishwasher - any answers for me John Boos?

Despite that issue with the ends separating, having this giant cutting board is great. You can cut and place multiple things on the board at the same time so you don't have to worry about getting separate bowls/plates to clear up additional space.

The knife feels good against the wood and there's a special bounce you get when you're chopping (other buyers know what I'm talking about). The wood board just looks great in your kitchen and has essentially become a decorating piece.

A year and a half later this thing is still awesome. The occasional wipe down with the butcher block oil. Not a hint of cracking or warpage. It's still solid as a rock and nicely sized for real cheffing in my home kitchen. Hard to figure I used to use anything else. Worth every penny and more.

6-month update: Still awesome. So fast, easy to clean, solid as a rock, and enough space to make lots of veg piles.

Solid, heavy, nicely finished board. I've only unwrapped and chopped some veg and some chicken on it so far, but this thing is nice. The 1 1/2" is legit. The handles are smoothly routered-in with no rough edges. It's pretty, each slat has a nice grain, for the most part. Best of all it's a hard, fast surface that is actually pretty quiet for how hard it feels out of the box. Even with my dull knife, a few habitual higher pressure slices didn't seem to leave a mark yet. This is quite possibly the nicest piece of equipment I've now got in my kitchen, if only because it is one of those simple, heavy-duty items that looks like it will make cooking more fun and easier. The 15" x 20" size is great for piling-up on some product and not running out of room, while also not completely dominating the whole counter. Happy early Festivus to me. I threw a 99-cent rubber draw liner thing under it, and it works great for staying put. I'll update with use, but so far can't imagine something this thick and solid having any issues going forward. Worth every penny of 50 bucks right now.

Edit 1: A few days in and I'm still in love. This thing makes me feel like I'm a real chef. Makes chopping fun.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 I am extremely disappointed and have to wonder how I can return this ... 28 janvier 2016

I've used the board almost every day since I purchased it in September. I use the Mystery Oil and Butcher Block cream and rotate the board from side to side regularly. Sadly, there is a crack which starts at the hand grip on both sides, in the same seam, and runs about a quarter of the way into the center. Soon they will meet, and the board will be totally unusable. I am extremely disappointed and have to wonder how I can return this since its been just under 6 months since the date of purchase

Perfect size cutting board for working on multiple items. Make sure you buy Boos oil and cream to protect and seal the board. Don't buy new knifes without using a wood board. Throw out the plastic. You can get plastic chips in your food and they hold more bacteria than wood per a Michigan State study. This board is beautiful.
