Présentation de l'éditeur

There’s no place like home ...
For teacher Jenna McKnight, nothing spells “heartbreak” like finding her husband with somebody else--in her bed. It’s clearly time to reinvent herself. A new body, a new city, and a new job later, she’s done just that. The beautiful Auckland villa isn’t really her home, though. Finn Douglas and his kids aren’t really her family, however much she wishes they were. And playing house can be a dangerous game.

Rugby star Finn Douglas is just looking for a temporary nanny and housekeeper. Not a girlfriend, and definitely not a wife. He can’t resist Jenna’s cooking, it’s true. Who knew he’d have so much trouble resisting her? He wants to do what’s right for his kids. But waiting is so hard ...

Note: This STAND-ALONE romance, like New Zealand, contains a bit of steam. If that isn't your cuppa, you may want to visit a different country ... er, book.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Funny and hot, but sweet too 1 septembre 2012

OK, I hope the author writes a fourth book soon, because this was my favorite in the series, though I enjoyed all of them. I liked that this was a book about two adults, both with some baggage and issues, trying to work through those to build a loving relationship. Loved his character--so tough on the field, but with the soft side at home. Enjoyed the kids and the humor. Maybe not quite as hot as "Just Good Friends," but the author does write a steamy sex scene! Finally, I really appreciated having a strong heroine who was NOT "kick-butt, tough, spunky, etc. etc.," but a gentle person who wanted a loving, domestic life. You get recipes for some of the dishes she makes in the back, though I haven't tried any of them yet.

Satisfying story with some twists I didn't see coming and, as always, a GREAT ending that made me tear up and left me with a little glow.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Rosalind James posts another win in the 'sexy modern romance' column 3 septembre 2012

Good news! This third novel in Rosalind James's "Escape to New Zealand" series is right up there with her excellent first two outings ("Just This Once" and "Just Good Friends"). The story follows Jenna McKnight, a young woman who's had more than her share of bad luck, in terms of her upbringing (I swear I've met this character's mom [shudder]) and her first husband, who wasn't exactly Mr. Honesty. Now she's taken a job as a live-in cook and nanny for Finn Douglas, a star rugby player who, when he's not bashing heads out on the field, is a nice, decent, standup bloke just trying to be a good dad to his two kids. Finn and Jenna gradually find themselves in a place they never expected to be -- a really, really nice place, but . . . Well, that's all you're getting from me. Suffice it to say, James does her usual spiffy job here: All her novels are character-driven, and the dialogue of the principals, the kids, the bit-players, all rings true-to-life. The story sucks you in and keeps you turning page after page until the end, where James unleashes her patented grab-at-your-heart emotional payoff. Honestly, I liked everything about this novel but the fact that it had to end. Hollywood is always churning out horrible, lame rom-coms, from horrible, lame books. How come they can't turn this kind of thing into a movie? Grumble, grumble. Anyway, strong recommendation for "Just for Now". Very good stuff.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 4.5 stars- such a great series! 20 janvier 2013

I read the first book in the Escape to New Zealand series and I couldn't get enough of the rugby captain Drew and sweet Hannah. I thought for sure they would be my favorite couple of the series, (each book focuses on a different "All- Black" rugby player) but now I think the favorite couple honor goes to Finn and Jenna from Just for Now.
There are so many things that I love about the Escape to New Zealand series. The writing is great, the setting is beautiful, and all of the characters- ALL of them- are so well developed and you get to see them pop up in all of the books. The All Blacks (kind of like the all star rugby team) are like a big family and I love that each book focuses on a different player. And each book is a unique situation, it is not just the same storyline told over and over again. You don't have to read them in order either. Each book is complete and can stand on it's own. I have read the 1st and 3rd books so far, and I have loved them both so much that I need to read book 2!
Jenna is such a sensible girl. And she is so great with kids. She is a grade school teacher and she becomes a live in nanny for Finn's kids. I loved that she is also a no -nonsense kind of girl. She doesn't let everyone just walk all over her, and she still manages to be super sweet. There is just something charming about her. Finn kept saying that she made everything seem to easy around the house and he was completely right. Jenna just has this attitude about her that makes everything seem possible. She is kind of awesome.
Finn is equally awesome. He is thoughtful and sweet and kind of fierce at the same time. I loved that he is this big tough enforcer on the rugby field and at home he is completely different. He loves his kids so much. The funny thing is, normally I don't like to read books with kids in them, but it worked really well with this story. I think it has everything to do with Rosalind's writing style. I am kind of in love with it. She can tell one heck of a story.
Finn's kids are adorable, by the way. His daughter is a huge sports buff and I loved watching her explain the games to Jenna. And his son is beyond cute with his obsession of animals and insane knowledge of random animal facts. Even the kids were well fleshed out as characters.
Anyone looking for a a great story and a sweet and REAL romance, you need to read the Escape to New Zealand series. I would recommend it to all fans of contemporary romances.

*disclaimer- I got a copy of this book for free in exchange for my honest review. I was not compensated for my thoughts.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Love this series....Great summer read 30 juin 2013

This is the third book I have read in Rosalind James' Escape to New Zealand series. Her main characters always 'like' each other before they become intimately involved, no matter the baggage they bring into the relationship. And each character has their own baggage. To me, it lends a greater sense of depth to the storyline.

Don't get me wrong, these are not heavy, depressing stories. They are fun, flirty, sexy, romantic stories with a laugh here and there. Also, after reading two of her other books, I didn't need to refer to the Kiwi glossary at all.

I said it was a great summer read, but it's a great read any time of year. On to the next book ........
Just for Fun.

This is another excellent book by Rosalind James. I've enjoyed all three of her books in the "Escape to NZ" series. I've read one a day for the last three days - they are really hard to put down! Unfortunately, now I have to wait for her to write some more books. I lived in NZ for 14 years and she portrays the NZ lifestyle, people and manner of speech so well that it makes me homesick for NZ. All three books have very different heroines but I enjoyed each one very much. Don't miss this series, and if you get a chance, go to NZ for a holiday!
