I liked it in general. I do think that all her issues with their previous break-up were spot on, he should have talked to her instead of assuming. They missed 6 years because of his misconceptions of their relationship. I wanted him to have to beg a bit or for her to tell him the how she felt about certain aspects of her life after the break-up. It would have made it better with him knowing what we did. I wanted to cry about the whole situation but then I can see that he loved her and I am happy for them if the heroine is happy because she is the one who got screwed over all those years ago.

Kiss Me by CC Wood has all of the things I look for in a novel. An alpha guy, a feisty, fun heroine I love, some good sexy times, some giggling moments and lots of "aaawwwws". But it didn't have one thing I wanted....MORE!!!

Though Kiss Me can be a stand-alone novella, I highly recommend you read A Kiss For Christmas first (this story is good any time of year.) In A Kiss for Christmas, we meet Kevin and Blair. Blair's BFF is Kevin's younger sister, Kaylie. During that book, I must say, Kaylie was a stand-out character, and a few of us begged CC for her story, and it totally lived up to expectations!

Jake Coulter dumped Kaylie six years earlier. But she never quite got over him. She kind of hates him for dumping her, but those old feelings are still there, simmering under the surface. But now, Kaylie is Maid of Honor and Jake is Best Man at her brother's wedding, so she will be seeing Jake quite a lot.

Jake starts flirting with Kaylie...she doesn't get it and it's pissing her off. How dare he play with her heart? HE dumped HER, and now he is getting all flirty. She tries to pull it off like he doesn't affect her, but his familiarity with all of her weaknesses, his gentlemanly behavior that so many guys lack, and his persistence start to wear her down. Kaylie is feisty. She'll kick you in the shin and throw a little tantrum, and that's one of the things Jake always loved about her.

"If you leave this room, I will chase you down and carry you back up here over my shoulder if I have to."

When he starts wearing her down (This is a short novella, I don't want to give away too much here), lets just say, Jake's dominant, ex-military, now police officer background comes out to play.

He responded by grabbing her wrists and pulling his body so that she now straddled his hips. Kaylie gasped as he put her hands on the headboard above him, forcing her to grip the top.

`Don't let go,' he stated.

Kaylie shivered. Usually if a man bossed her around, bedroom or not, she would kick him in the nuts. However, it appeared that a bossy Jake really did turn her on..."

Telling a full story in about 60 pages is not easy to do. How much can you really do in 60 pages? But CC did a great job of getting the reader right into the story and not letting go till the happy ending. It was a short, sweet, happy fun book that is perfect to read when you want a little treat. Like it's cover, it's like a sweet candy, that is gone way too fast.

I am not going to list likes and dislikes for such a short title. I will say this, my only dislike is I wanted more!!! MORE!!! Yes I'm greedy like that. Part of me wants to take off half a star because of how short it is, but then I want to add it back because she gave a very full story in such a small amount of pages. It's just hard to compare this to her other novellas that run around 100 pages to this one. But I'm going to judge it for the shorter story it is and give it 5 stars because it made me happy.

Rating: 5 stars (for a short novella) 4.5 Heat

Go ahead. For less than a buck you'll have an hour or two of happy, sexy entertainment, and it feels like you got a whole juicy story. I giggled, got horny, and even teared up. What the hell else can you expect from a novella? Nothing! This had it all.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 sweet and cute...but where's the groveling? 18 avril 2014

This is more of a 3.5* review. I liked the writing, I liked the characters, I liked their chemistry...but uh...where is the groveling? The synopsis makes it clear this is a second chance romance (which I do very much enjoy), but uh...(*possible slight spoilers*) he done her wrong 6 years before and a "I'm sorry I didn't talk to you" is good enough for her to get over a broken heart? I know it's a novella and there are page constraints - but I feel like she fell into bed with him WAY too easily and forgave him and carried on way too easily. If there had been some groveling and some suffering and some angst suffered by the H, I would've liked this book a whole lot better. I like this author's writing - it's smooth, engaging, and her books are all fun to read. I like the premise for this book, I liked the characters and writing - I just didn't like that the H didn't suffer at all - everything seemed like it had to be on his terms and that detracted from my enjoyment. On the other hand the book that precedes this (A Kiss for Christmas - about the h's brother and BFF) is excellent and a great 5 star read.

1.0 étoiles sur 5 Hated him!! 27 décembre 2013

The book could have been cute........but my gosh what an ass he was!! I've read other books by this author that I really enjoyed, so I was really surprised by this one. He never did act contrite, he just brushed her off and never was really sorry. I hated that and him!

I couldnt even finish the book. The number of times the heroine growled or rolled her eyes or snarled or sighed or screamed in the first 3 chapters alone was insane. No actual person reacts like that. Also, for someone who couldn't get over the way a guy treated her 6 years ago she sure seems okay after a couple kisses and an apology the equivalent of "Oops, my bad. Maybe I should've talked to you." Usually, if I pay money for a book I will force myself to power through it, but I can't. I just...can't. If you want to try this author the NSFW series is a better developed storyline with more realistic characters. Its not amazing, but it's much more entertaining than this offering.
