The case does add a bit of bulk and weight though. Not a big deal for me.
Enter the "Leather" Kuzy case. I'm in love. Love, I tell you! This is far and away the most comfortable case I've put on my MacBook. It's soft and smooth everywhere. It doesn't hurt when I put my wrists on the keyboard area. The case fits like a glove. It also looks beautiful and professional. Bonus, you can see the Apple - if you care about that. There is a well placed cut out around the apple. There's nothing that goes there to cover the apple but honestly I haven't had any need for one. It was a slight concern initially, but because the case is raised up around the apple, nothing can scratch it unless it actually goes into that hole, which is near impossible. If you were really concerned, you could use any old plastic screen protector and put it over the apple before you put the case on and you'd be golden. I'm super over protective of my MacBook and I didn't bother. I've had no issue with anything touching that little apple, if that gives you any insight.
The leather-like texture is really nice looking, feels great and gives a good grip as well. You won't feel like you're going to drop it. There is absolutely zero smell to the case, either. You won't have to put it outside for a month until you can stand to be in the same room with it.
Yes, it's about twice the price of the plastic style cases, but if I added up all the money I've spent in the last year alone on the plastic type covers, I could have bought three of these with money left over. If I go through one of these cases in a year, I'll be shocked. It seems so much more durable and well made. The main thing, it's not thin plastic! Silly me.
As everyone else has stated, but bears repeating, everything is covered. The corners are well protected which is something the plastic ones don't do well. It did take a little bit of effort to get it snapped on, but no more than any other case.
The only thing I can complain about, and it's honestly not even a complaint, is that I have a silver palmguard protector on the laptop itself that goes on the lower half of the MacBook because I wear a watch and bracelets and don't want to scratch up the surface of the MacBook. ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B5VXVGS ) When I snapped on the bottom section of the Kuzy cover, it created a tiny bulge in the silver palm protector by one of the Kuzy tabs that clips the bottom half on. Seriously, that's all I can find to "complain" about. No one would even notice unless I pointed it out. It doesn't cause any issue whatsoever other than it might have pushed that little section of the palm guard back a tiny bit.
The purple color is really beautiful. It's a deep purple and very elegant. Not a bright color, not crayon purple, a little more of a grape tone and really pretty. It doesn't show fingerprints either, which is something the plastic cases were horrible about and drove me nuts!
If you're on the fence, just go ahead and buy it. You won't regret doing it. If you've been living with the plastic semi-clear cases, you will kick yourself for not having done it sooner.
I know many people who buy Apple laptops because they are almost works of art. I'm not that type, but if you are and want to protect your investment when traveling, you won't go wrong with this case. It will certainly protect your computer and it looks pretty good doing it.
As a side note, the company contacted me and corrected a problem that we had. It turned out to be user error, but then were helpful none-the-less.
