Description du produit

Présentation de l'éditeur

When a young Apache man is found hanging from a tree on Cat Mountain, Sheriff Jim Weber and FBI agent Larry Parks go on the hunt for the killers and by the time their investigation is over, the idealistic cover is ripped from the little mountain town of Big Lake, revealing old prejudices, resentments, and hatred.

In their search for justice, Sheriff Weber and Parks encounter Native American activists, a kinky couple whose passion burns as hot as their tempers, a teenager with excess baggage, and a father and son team of small town bullies, to name just a few.

Many of the characters that made the original Big Lake book so popular are back, along with some new ones readers will remember for a long time.

One reviewer has referred to the Big Lake mystery series as “Mayberry Meets Twin Peaks." It’s a combination of humor and intrigue that launched author Nick Russell’s first Big Lake book into Amazon’s 100 Top Paid Kindle books for over 78 days, and Big Lake Lynching is sure to be a hit too!

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Kinda fluffy, lacks grit 21 mars 2017

Easy, cozy mystery about a small-town cop. I liked it better than my husband ... he felt the author was a woman pretending to be a man. At times I had to agree, the main character's thoughts, reactions and dialogue seemed a little off (manufactured). Kinda fluffy, lacks grit. Again a quick, cozy read if you have a couple hours to kill in a waiting room ... I finished the book. He didn't.

This author tells a gritty type mystery in a lighter form. He is detailed about his characters. For those who think the sheriff is too emotional, stop and really think what he would be like if he was not. A hardened law officer in the wrong areas does not care about finding truth.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 W. Kent Kruger you have competition! 18 octobre 2014

After reading Big Lake, which I found to be an O.K. read, I was a bit curious to review this book when it was suggested on my reading list. So I read a sample and got hooked. Not only was the writing better, and the story line more interesting, I also found the characters leaping from the pages into my mind to create a tale that included me as an active observer. Not very far into the story I realized that the first book, Big Lake, was the perfect set up for this story. (Please read Big Lake first.). Together, these stories combine to build a solid base upon which to build a series of stories very much like the Series by W. Kent Kruger featuring Cork O'Conner as the focus character. Give me more; please!

I have become a huge fan of Nick Russell and his "Big Lake" series. I consider the community of Big Lake a "Mayberry with an edge!" I have read each book in the series, in order, and have come to know each one of his wonderfully unique and very likable characters. I keep looking to see if Mr. Russell has published any new books in this continuing series, as I can't wait to find out the latest happenings in Big Lake. I strongly suggest this series to any reader seeking an escape to a small town never short on excitement. Rest assured, you won't be disappointed!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 ... sheriff has plenty on his plate starting with a hate killing of a native american 3 juin 2016

Nick Russell surely knows how to write a page turner in his latest Big Lake novel the sheriff has plenty on his plate starting with a hate killing of a native american. Our sheriff sees the darker side of what is a picturesque setting with plenty of baddies incompetent deputies and a mayor who is like a yappy dog and is determined to sack our hero.Just when you think nothing else can go wrong another atrocity occurs and the reader is left wondering who done it right up to the last chapter.
Cant wait to read his next one
