If you're brand new to Nessus, it's an OK introduction to the various components. There's very little detail about any of the topics covered, and most of the descriptions I feel were copied and pasted from Tenable's website. I found the grammar and spelling mistakes throughout the book very distracting; it's clear the author did not have this proofed. If you're looking for anything detailed about writing audit files or tweaking plugins, forget it. I finished reading this book in probably 30 minutes front to back.

Save your money unless you've literally never run Nessus before. It's sad to say that this documentation is better than Tenable's own website because they're horrible at keeping their documentation up to date as they change the GUI.

This book is out of date and does not have much if any information that pertains the current environment of the Neussus scanners. I recommend that you do not buy it. If I could get a refund I would.
