The follow-up to Leo, the USA Today bestselling novel by Mia Sheridan.

Every love story has two sides. Evie told hers. This time it's Leo's chance.

THIS IS A POV NOVEL OF LEO (LEO SHOULD BE READ FIRST). New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

I'm left speechless. There are no words to express how beautiful and moving this story was. Go read it right now if you haven't, you won't regret it.

I did my best for a spoiler free review but some might have snuck past me... If you've read the first book Leo or don't mind spoilers read on!

Ok so I think I'm going to do a joint review of both Leo and Leo's Chance, cuz I really think it should have been one book. Where to start.... Leo was a little bit of a let down for me. I saw all these great reviews and it had a really high rating so I went in thinking I was going to love it. And don't get me wrong I did like it but it wasn't enough for me. There were some pacing issues and grammatical errors, but not enough to draw me out of the story. And let's face it when was the last time you read a book with no mistakes in it?? But something was missing, as it turned out it was book two, Leo's POV. I know the author wanted it to be a big reveal (view spoiler) but come on didn't we all know that was coming? It wasn't the best kept secret and the first book would have greatly benefited from his POV. I know we where supposed to root for Leo but all I seem to do was wish that Evie would leave him, that was until book two. Having that second book really helped me forgive Leo and even though I knew how the story would end couldn't help rooting for him this time around. I also found that I liked being in Leo's head more than Evie's. Whether or not that was because it was the authors second book and her writing got better or if I liked that I just plain liked Leo more at that point I'm not sure. And I'm grateful for that second book, because without it I would have left Evie's story with a bad taste in my mouth. If like me you were left wanting after the first book, then you owe it to yourself to read the second installment. You'll be thankful that you did. And if you loved the first book and got all tingly after Leo's tease of a POV in the epilogue in book one you also owe it to yourself to read Leo's Chance.

It takes a lot of guts to put a part of yourself out to the world and that's what every author does when he/she writes a book. No one should have to suffer through just plain rude or hateful reviews of what may be something equivalent of their baby. While I may not like or enjoy a book I would never write anything to make an author think less of themselves just because I may have not like what they wrote. My opinion is just one of hopefully millions that have read their works and will differ greatly. My point in saying this is that I see a lot of author bashing going on and it makes me sad. It reminds me of bullies in school. Shouldn't we be past it by now? It's ok if you don't like something but there are was to expressing your opinion without belittling someone in order to do it. Ok I said my piece and I'll get off my milk create and put down my 'stop the hate stop the violence' sign.

Favorite quote..

Your gift with story telling Evie? It's not about you getting lost in your own mind, or living in a dreamland. It's about being able to rise above even the worst of situations. It's one of the reasons I've loved you every single day since I was eleven years old

First off Mia Sheridan’s writing is nothing but a pure perfection. Heartwarming, Solid and worth reading. Every book of hers that I’ve read so far managed to tear my heart apart while, during and after reading. All of which provides worthwhile and significant moral lessons.
We all know that the system is flawed when it comes to placing children in foster homes.
Sometimes the disadvantage gets taken advantaged by the people who were trusted to care shelter and love them. Some children and teenagers who grew up in an adoptive families setting fall off the system because the wrong person were given that position to care them. It’s such a vicious cycle. They were taken from an abusive home to be place in a more worst of situation.
Evie & Leo went through all these worst experienced. Leo’s Chance is a part 2 book. This is in Leo’s POV. I like this book a lot it explains more of what happened to him during those 8 years that they were separated. This book is about Hope, Kindness, Being able to rise above even in a worst of situation, that everyone deserves a second chance falling in-love to the fullest, that you’re worth fighting for. This is such a beautiful beautiful story.

In the dim and distant past I read and loved Leo. I added this to my TBR and left it to fester whilst I got excited about the new kids on the block, Archer, Calder, Bree, Eden......

Anyway, I had a DNF and felt like I wasted a whole weekend so I needed a pick me up - Leo sprang to mind as the one who could make it all better.

I knew the story of course. Leo and Evie meet as children in foster care and believe they have found their soul mates. When Leo is adopted and moves his swears to keep in touch and they will reunite and become one forever and ever.

Evie is crushed when Leo doesn't keep his promise.

Leo's Chance gives us what is going through his mind when he finds his true love again. We feel his turmoil and disgust at what happened to him as a child and the perfect love he feels for Evie.

A sweet, sweet book. Mia is totally ace.

Minor Spoilers Alert!!!

I was fascinated by Leo’s side of the story, and believe it or not, I fell in love all over again. How was that possible considering I knew Evie’s side of this love story? Author Mia Sheridan sprinkled her fairy writing dust and poof! It happened. I fell hard. Again and again!

I read Leo and Leo’s Chance back-to-back and yet all my favorite moments from Leo (told from Evie's POV) hit me just as hard if not more in some cases. Discovering more about Dr. Fox’s role in Leo/Jake’s recovery was an added bonus as well. The doc was one of those characters that I like to call “a good egg,” and certain events would not have been the same if not for him. He was also the father figure that Leo needed at this point in his life and rightly labeled "Confucius" by Leo in a flashback scene during his hospital stay.

“How’d you go from computers to psychology?”

“I decided that computers are too predictable. I like people better. They keep you guessing.” He winks.

I laugh. “Man, that makes one of us. That’s exactly why I DON’T like people.”

“Ah, no, son. The complexity of the human heart is something to be awed by. If people acted in a predictable way, determined solely by a set of data, you and Evie would have been much different people. Respect the mystery.”

“Hey Doc, has anyone ever mentioned that you have a tendency to sound like a fortune cookie?”

He laughs out loud and stands up to leave. “I’ll see you next week, son.”

“See ya, Confucius.”

I could go on and on since I was a bookmarking and highlighting fool during this read. But I’ll restrain myself and stick with these additional 5 Outstanding elements/moments that I loved.
Don't read any further if you prefer to be completely surprised!
5 Outstanding elements/moments:
1. The boy part “Hulking out” scene – I shared the crap out of this scene with book buddies who’d already read it. I giggled every time, true story!
2. The peacock scene – gah, loved, LOVED it!
3. The World’s Greatest t-shirt scene – I loved how Leo took Evie’s theory about having enough moxie of to claim that you are or a product is the world’s greatest to heart.
4. All of their sexy times, duh! They were so well placed and written.
5. Private and public displays of affection – I simply couldn’t get enough of all the little random moments of affection when they’d hold hands or one of them would hug the other. Swoon!

And then Mia gave us a new time perspective in the epilogue told from Evie's POV in addition to a longer look at Evie and Leo’s happily ever after. I seriously want to reread both Leo and Leo’s Chance again like right now. Thank goodness Leo’s Chance and all of Author Mia Sheridan’s other Sign of Love novels - Stinger, Archer’s Voice, Becoming Calder, Finding Eden and Kyland are now currently available on making future rereads easy and guilt free for this audiobook junkie.

Coming up next this fall from Author Mia Sheridan is Grayson's Vow, A Sign of Love novel focusing on the Libra legend/astrological sign. Obviously, it will be a must-read for me.

'I'm ruined for life. Hopelessly. In. Love. This girl is it for me. Yeah, ruined. Happily ruined.'

Wow, that was heartbreakingly beautiful. I am becoming a big fan of alternate POV books and stories like this are the reason why. It's not simply just a re-telling of B1, it's sooo much more. It was incredible being in Leo's head, finally understanding why he made the decisions he made and truly seeing the depth of his feelings for Evie. His head was also a devastating place to be. He was a very, understandably, broken man. Struggling with himself and his life choices so far.

'How had life brought me to this place -not just this room in this building, but the unbearable state of my own heart and mind? I want to escape myself, I want to crawl out of my own head and become a shadow curled up in the corner, just a ball of emptiness. I had destroyed every person who had ever tried to love me, and the pain in that realization is so devastating that if feels crushing, constricting, too big to handle.'

It's very easy to see how hard it was to deceive Evie about who he was, that really did a number on me, I cried several times. He desperately wanted to tell he the truth but terrified of her reaction.

'She probably thinks I'm all over the map. Unsure one minute and caveman the next. But that's pretty much exactly what's going on inside of me. The two halves of me are dueling. I'm scared to death and possessive as hell. It's exhausting.'

'Evie is... Evie is everything to me. The fear of her turning away when she hears even a portion of my truth is terrifying on a very deep level.'

Even though it was essentially the same story, it felt different knowing who he really was from the start, and knowing how deeply affected he was by this girl almost his entire life was breathtaking.

'Will it always be like this with her? Holy s***. I'll be dead by the time I'm thirty-two. But what a way to go. Death by orgasm. He came so hard he had an aneurism. Lucky bas***d.'

'I breathe deeply, letting Evie's magic wash over me -nothing in this crazy, messed up world feels quite so bad when I'm standing in her embrace. Nothing feels like it can't be overcome when I feel her love surrounding me.'

Oh & the epilogue?!? In B1 the POV jumps from Evie to Leo for the epilogue, in B2 it's the opposite. Absolutely beautiful. I cried like a little girl I was so damn happy for these two. I am thrilled that I came across this author, she's just amazing and I can't wait for more from her.

'My Evie, my heart, my savior. My lion tamer.'

'We had planned and dreamed and loved on that roof of ours. We didn't know that the journey that would finally bring us to our happily ever after would be full of detours and pitfalls and pain. We didn't know how much love and forgiveness and understanding would be required to make it back on the path we were meant to be on, together....
....despite all the pain that we had endured to be where we are, in the end, love won. '
